OEM front brake discs/pads

Recommended Posts

Evening All, very quick question plse! I've been quoted £405 for supply and fitting of OEM front brake discs/pads to my Mk 7R, does that full price sound high to you guys?

Many thanks in advance

Andrew

No, not for fitting as well, as it will include brake fluid change.

I've got some nearly new OE discs and pads for sale if you want to save a few quid!

Brake fluid does not need changing when replacing discs and pads.

Technically no, it just needs topping off. But it's pretty standard procedure to change it...

Not when replacing discs / pads it’s not.
Yes, it’s due to replaced at year 3, then every 2 years.

Well had brake fluid changed 12 months ago, and only do about 4k miles a year. So £405 is a good price then for supply and fitting of front discs and pads to a 7R?

You can buy Brembo discs and pads for the front for £160.

2 hrs labour at £60 per hr =£120

£280-300 more reasonable.

Sorry, didn't realise you were asking about fronts only, thought it was all 4 corners. It is a little high.

I've heard bad things about brembo discs & pads though. Some alternatives are:

Mtec
Godspeed

It’s around £300 for parts alone, so around £100 labour. I did my own, took about 2 hours on my drive, having to mess about with jacks / axle stands etc.

Don’t forget, if you get a price of parts from VW, discs are sold as singles, not pairs

Cheers, I'm a rookie with carparts tbh lol!! Just been on Eurocarparts, entered my registration, it listed both Brembo and Pagid, put in GHOST80 discount code, and got c.£137, and c.£167 (total for 2 of course) respectively, or are other parts needed too lol?? I appreciate labour etc, and good independent will fit in sure for £180 tops, so worse case scenario c.£350..
Or am I missing something here!?

No, you are not.

I've posted exact price for parts. Not what I think it costs.

With that discount code, the Brembos for the pair are £138, so even cheaper, but are there any supplementary parts needed to fit said discs and pads?

Hey, check out BREMBO Brake Disc in the AUTODOC app https://m.autodoc.co.uk/brembo/8714327

This is the price today, plenty of discount on other days

Who said I bought the parts from Euro car parts?

Just FYI IMO they are expensive
