I think it will be into 2022 before we see the new rs3... quite fancy one of those too, although no details have been released yet

To be totally honest, I don't mind 4 cyl for efficiency, I like a quietish car and 310PS is more than enough + another 50PS or so from a tune is there if and when.

Thing to remember is vw are fairly generous with their stock specs. How many options offered do you “need” really?

I don’t need a camera to reverse...

I don’t need a slightly bigger screen for my nav, stock size is visible to me...

I don’t need a pano roof as I have Aircon to enjoy in the summer...

Many have argued you don’t need a heated seat as it’s barely used...

Etc etc etc

Im going to see the R at my local dealer when it comes in and will go from there.

 

The new RS3 arrival may fit in better on the timings with all that’s going on this year.

I was lining up the rs3 for 2020 but that didn’t happen.

With the new model likely around a year off at least and me unlikely to buy it brand new, the timings for that should be right for me too

Yeap it will be a real upgrade for me performance and having a 5 pot plus it’s a different car. TBH I’m looking to seeing the MK8R in the flesh out on the roads to see if it pushes me into buying one.‘I’ve discounted an M2 as a new one will arrive sometime in the next 24months and I like the security and 4WD system on MQB platform cars.?The new trick diff will be a bonus hopefully and I’m keen to see the likes of Harris, Catchpol and Dan Prosser from EVO : PH review it
