gazza5
Yes certainly not as cheap as they were - but others have stated its a different world now - the R has a following, so I don't think VW need to now offer "cheap" deals. Darlo
I think I’ve got a decent deal direct through VW. The guy I used is Tim Hayes at VW Stockport Tel: 01614748566 email: Tim.Hayes@inchcape.co.uk He is mad busy so bear with him.
camelsac2002
Lease deals are pretty much a complete mystery to me. When I bought my R, (with options) I put in about £18k I think and pay £260 per month on the loan. Unlimited mileage! I’m having trouble justifying some lease deals compared to deposit/loan scenario. I think I could easily get more than £18k if I sold mine. I’ve seen some lease deals where adding the Akrapovich alone adds £64 a month!Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk sss555

I would go via VW to save the admin fee

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Going back in time by nearly 3 years...a brand new R was about £36k (my estate in grey was) and the monthlies plus deposit for a 2 year lease we’re about £7k. You wouldn’t add extras as you pay for them over the lease period. That’s a very cheap way of owning a brand new R and less than the cost of depreciation and cheaper than pcp etc. Of course you can buy a 3 year old car for cash and it might only cost you £4K in depredation over 2 years (ignoring bank loans etc). Anyway this isn’t a thread about the benefits of leasing. The mk8 deals are starting to flow.

Richard_Nottm
I clicked a social media link to an R lease site - leaseloco or something. 36+3 x £365 (10k miles) c14.5k over 3 years. No options selected. I'm not looking but peaked my interest. 🙂
camelsac2002
Was yours new? So what has yours cost you over the first 2 years etc?Mine was brand new with options. It’s £260 per month on a loan so that doesn’t come into the two year thing. Otherwise, costs over the first two years was two services (I’m not a fan of 20,000 mile servicing!) and whatever tyres I had. Can’t remember now as it’s been a few years - 2016 car.Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I’m an options snob so I’d want some toys!Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
