So, if you have any tips or advice on checks and resets that I can perform, I’d love to try anything that doesn’t involve a wrench. I’m a year+ out of warranty Can try and ask for GW from them but not sure where they’ll stand Hey. Sorry for bumping an old thread. I have the same issue. Output test fails but no faults. Do you remember how you resolved this? thanks Mike
AHG
I sold the car 🙂 Not because of that it was my ‘18 S3 an my Golf came make sure the hood is up when you code sometimes it requires a few restarts I think I was able to get it back by doing some kinds of reset but wasn’t able to do the test so can’t be 100% sure

AHG
Sometimes it just takes a few tries (had that in other things). Make sure the hood is up, engine is off, switch is on. After you need to turn off and on, or reboot the infotainment. I tried several types of resets, and I think the last one worked. What car are we talking about in your case ? What car are we talking about in your case ? It’s a 2020 Passat GTE. I’ve not needed hood up for any other adaptations but in this Instance the Soundaktor wasn’t working when I bought the car used. I’ve checked the volume. The fuse. The connector. Nothing obvious and it won’t complete the test. as there are no faults the dealer won’t look at it. Ill try hood up and engine running tomorrow. it’s an enigma.
AHG
I am not sure the GTE has a soundaktor, bro.
Mookistar
Yeah. It does. Only in GTE mode tho.

And if the car has auto lights, turn them to off, as this forms part of the e-firewall working with the hood catch. The hood ( or bonnet if you are Australian!!) must be unlatched and lights turned to off. Mookistar

There is a separate vibration motor attached to the chassis just below the windshield, fro the outside (far top of the engine bay, above the firewall). It uses the car as a speaker, and doesn't run through the Audio system (this is not a BMW). My crappy thing shook the roof lining so much they replaced it under warranty as it would vibrate on its fixings. really need to get round to unplugging the stupid fake noisemaker

Booth11
I never turned the auto lights off when I did obdeleven coding changes on my mk8 and no issues with the coding being accepted (the bonnet catch was released).

I got that tip at the dealer last week when he was using the Getec diagnostic device. Booth11
