AHG
I do love a contrast roof Takes me back to 2011 when my spouse had the cutest black Skoda Fabia with a white roof (totaled by a merc GLA driving a-hole, driving too fast in a parking lot)

Booth11
Thanks for the info Sean. I’ll drop my dealership an email and get in the long line! I wonder which will come first, the steering wheel (on order since May) or the mythical engine cover! 😄 SEAN G
SEAN G
Maybe you’ll get both together !! Oddly my sister had a new steering wheel fitted to her car about 6 months ago when the car was in for service - she had never requested it as she had no issues with the original but they changed it anyway Suppose it just depends on the dealer

There’s probably an owner out there with daily bongs who is waiting for that very steering wheel for months. 😄 That’s what concerns me with the current VW response that they don’t know what wheels are coming in and until they turn up. That may be true but who knows whether or not the wheels that do come in just get randomly allocated (obviously according to model) or go to the actual people they are meant for. Agreed, mine was originally for another car but it was a lease vehicle and had been returned to the leasing Company so it got reallocated to my car! Yes, I’m not convinced they have an organised approach (shock, horror! 😂). There may be another local R driver cruising round with MY steering wheel. 😭 😆
Nurdle
Just had a notification that the oil level is low - says to add 1ltr, and looking at the dipstick it’s just above minimum. Car has only done 11k miles and as far as I remember our old 7.5R never asked for oil in the 3 years we had it. Does it sound normal? I’ll pick some up in the morning as I’m going past a VW dealer. AHG
The 7 didn’t light up until you were missing more than 1L, but if you check regularly it is common for a new car to be missing a bit after a few months, not only from consumption but also expansion of the manifold (relaxation due to heat cycles) that increases the volume and filling of crevices in the ducting, that lowers the level. In my decades of car ownership I usually had to top up 0.5L during the first year (same in the 8R), buy 1L is defo not irregular, as you never know how much it came with. Just keep following to see it doesn’t go to the many-liters-per-year zone. Nurdle

Topped mine up with a 1/2 litre last year. No oil light, but I was doing one of my regular check of the fluids (plus was heading off on a long trip) and dip stick showed it could take a little so topped it up a with half a litre. With this oil
