AHG
I washed the car in what became the longest car care session I have ever done in my life (2.5 hrs). More about that in the detailing section. Good news is that by rubbing some detailer spray with a microfiber I manages to minimize the scuff/scratch to something visible only in a specific light angle and only if you look for it. So I’m very happy and plan to leave it be. of course, in my head I still know it’s there, so, all that remains is therapy 🙂 Here are some BEFORE pics: and some AFTER pics (need to enlarge to see the scuff):

Tom2893
After downshifting early in manual, the pops and bangs are so much louder than previous R’s.. Even with standard exhaust 👌
Nes
I have managed to scrape the front bumper lip, thankfully the scrape was at the bottom and it isn't visible. However i know it is there and when i run my hand over it i can feel it. I want to get it repaired if possible, or if it is possible just get the whole lip replaced. Does anyone know if this is possible please?
AHG
I don’t have access to a parts software but I do think the lower lip is a separate part. I have a stone chip right in the top of it - see pic - on the only parts that is not covered other than tail lights (which also got a scuff) but I decided to let it go. Car won’t be immaculate forever anyway so may as well make the mental transition early on. (just realized the chip it I have a stone hiding somewhere in the radiator entrance. Damn). McDoogle
So after finally getting above 1k miles and opening her up, my partner needed something dropping off at work( she works nights) thought great! Dead roads! Unfortunately nature thought better and something fell off a tree onto the roof, about 2 inches from the sunroof and dented the roof. £120 later at a local PDR company and she's back to being spotless. I just (this past weekend) replaced my front bumper which included swapping all the trims, and that was the easiest one. 5H0-853-765-C-041 Good luck!! AHG
Can he replaced it without taking off the bumper itself ?
blizzard60
Absolutely! Seeing as you are replacing it anyway, you don’t need to be worried about scratching it. Nighthawk

That’s great, I asked this question in the last month or so, I had a feeling it was separate 👍🏼
TurboTrev
Just took delivery of my 8R yesterday and I'm baffled by the reversing camera views. I can see one setting is a sort of fish eye to give a strange wide angle view, which may be useful. But the "normal" view seems very strange too. Unklike my Mk7 which gives what I would call a real size/width view, the 8R camera compresses the view making it really narrow. I have tried to reverse the car into my garage and it's impossible because the view is so narrow. Is this normal? If I'm not making myself clear, I will try and get a photo of the display. Thanks. EDIT. I've moved the line drawing graphic off the screen, so it's now full screen and it's better (not surprisingly!!). I still feel that it's not as good as mk Mk7 view, but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

Yes the rear view camera takes a bit of getting used to after the mk7 one, but you soon adjust to it and the it feels the norm. How are you finding the car so far? I know you were in two minds about keeping it prior to it arriving - have you made a decision? TurboTrev
TurboTrev
@Booth11 - Thanks, it arrived yesterday after a 23 month wait, with 6 miles on the clock! Due to me recently having an ankle fusion, I'm in a big aircast boot and although I could drive, I haven't been off the drive so far! My time has been spent trying to get to grips with the new tech. I have to say, the car looks great, but we still haven't made our minds up as to whether we're keeping it but selling it might be easier said than done, there's lots of cars currently up for sale. For the spec of the car and the price we want (£44k for a £53.5k current price), three months ago I reckon we would have had a queue of buyers. The problem is, the car is really for my wife and she still much prefers her Polo GTI! We'll see!
