It's a bit complicated, as I have to use the mirrors to back down the drive, into the into the rather limited space between two houses, to get exactly lined up for the garage, then fold the mirrors in just before they hit the door frame. Then a slight swerve to give me room to get out. Driving out I hold my breath until clear of the buildings before opening the mirrors.

What could possibly go wrong?! 🙈

What I can't understand is why my previous BMW F30, which was only 1mm wider across the mirrors, although 2cm wider in the body, was so much easier to back in every time. I think the Golf's stupidly pointed mirrors are not helping. I knew the new G20 3 Series would be far too wide, but was astonished to find that the new F40 1 Series is even wider, so the potential M135i had to give way to the Golf. A shame, as I don't find VW to be anywhere the equal of any of my previous 6 BMWs.

During your maneuvers, do you have the docking music playing from Space Odyessy 2001? :D

I think I'll know when it's time to give up driving. Would be an interesting challenge for the gormless numpty who claimed his Haldex was trying to kill him. Perhaps I should try selecting Race Mode and closing my eyes.

Many years ago my boss, who was a serious (5 pints at lunchtime) alcoholic, spent a few hours in the pub after work. At just before 10pm he realised that he had about 3 minutes to get his car out of the multi-storey before it was locked for the night. Our company car manager let it be widely known that a certain 5 Series had been brought in without a single undamaged external panel. How he kept his job was a mystery.

If I was in a position to be able to afford something like this I'd think I'd probably go for the GTI Clubsport , as much power as my current R , lighter and i think looks good on the 19s.

Having tried going from an R back to a 2wd Gti I struggled with traction, felt very nimble and exciting initially but with 6 months I moved back to an R.

yeah I went from GTI to S3 (both stage 1).... then back to gti as I needed a 5dr again. Big mistake. Mrs ended up having it and I got an R.

I will never own a front wheel drive car again no matter how ‘fun’ they are according to journalists 😂😂😂. I like traction

I have had plenty of different mk golfs with lots of different engine variants from a mk3 vr6 to a mk5 gti with loads in-between.

Just before Christmas i treated myself to a low milage Mk7.5r i have wanted one ever since they came out and boy what a car. Super stoked with it.

I’ve acquired front (26mm) and rear (24mm) Whiteline anti roll bars for my Mk7 Golf R which I intend to use on spirited drives and many track days to come.

My intentions are to dial out the understeer and make it more neutral so I can rotate when trail braking on turn in. I will have B16 PSS10s and also 034 MS top mounts (2.4 degrees negative camber).

What I don’t want is a loose back end that induces snap oversteer.

what settings should I set these to? They have 2 per bar front and rear.

I’ve been told to setup wisely as I could destroy the balance that could end badly!

      All,

I recently had the clutch replaced on my VW Golf R 2015,  Xtreme Clutch, I have done just over 1000kms and it has started slipping again.
The oil indicator light also came on at the same time. There are no visible sign of a leak.

      Are these related?

      Hey all!

I figured I’d start a topic for my lovely OPF 2020 Golf R! This topic is mainly to showcase the journey of my Golf R and encourage other Lapiz blue owners to share theirs!

I’d like to welcome and share:

      1. Car modification journey
      2. Road trips/ scenic photographs
      3. Any other Lapiz blue R related stuff!

I want to share my cars modification journey (it’s currently completely stock) and have many ideas for build. I also plan to take my car around Europe and vlog it for YouTube- I’ll be sharing the journey of that too!

ALL LAPIZ BLUE MK7/7.5 OWNERS WELCOME! (Sorry to other colors haha, All Golf R’s are lovely regardless what colour but this one is for my Lapiz people!)
