I splurged all over my keyboard...

Very sexy! Dan930 - can't wait to see them on the car. What wheels are you running?

I'm running oem 19"s...needed a 5mm spacer with a hub extender

Surely a set of these with ap racing discs can't be as heavy as full oem TTRS/R setup?

I'm sure it's not as heavy, I think most of the weight saving is from the discs.

They are looking great Dan, I can't wait to get ours back! Be interested to hear your views on how they compare to stock. :afro:

The stock RS3/TTRS/DB9/GT40 calipers weigh in at 2.95KG's with the pad fitting kits. Stock R calipers are over 8kgs.

The 362mm discs with bells are under 9kgs where the 345mm discs are 12kgs.

Dan's were refurbed and had paint where paint shouldn't be, so worth checking before fitting.

These calipers are mega and work very well with the MK5/6's.

I had a set on my Edition 30 but got some DaveB brackets to run 343mm S3 discs, not as fancy as Dans AP discs but on a quick road car with some decent pads (I ran CR RC5+'s) they we re unreal! Plus cheap consumables with S3/R32 being readily available everywhere at cheap monies.

I'm just going to throw this thread back up real quick, although I know its a vintage one lol.

Guess I'm not quite ready for an upgrade YET because I can't seem to settle on a decision, however I have been looking a little more for when I am.

If I get the TTRS callipers, what size AP discs do I get? - does anyone have any links?

Have I understood it right - can use TTRS callipers and get the AP bells and discs?

I have also been looking at the following..

https://www.awesomegti.com/shop-by-brand/vagbremtechnic/vagbremtechnic-front-brake-kit-6-piston-ap-racing-caliper-362x32mm-2-piece-discs/

However, the Vagbremtechnic is very pricey.

The kit Forge do (356mm) seems pretty decent and isn't badly priced. But are these any good?

What do people actually recommend doing? Baring in mind, it won't be for track use. More so for a fast road set up that and something to look good behind the wheels.
