Which Stg 3 Golf R out of these two?

Blue one is meth injected, but the red one doesn't seem to be.

Personally I get a better 'vibe' from the description of the red one. Talks about having a full service history, HPI check etc and it has 10k less miles on it. Also at least he / she was bothered to clean the interior before taking photos of it which says to me they take better care of it. I agree it does seem base spec but it has had suspension changes so not sure if DCC even matters at this point.

Personally I'd go for red. 500hp would be enough for me, and doesn't seem like you need to faff around with methanol.

The red car is much better presented with a clean interior - they were the first things I noticed and such signs are usually a good indication of a well cared for car.

i have no idea on the mods, but based on the way the two cars have been presented, it’d be the red one for me. I’m also not a fan of leather, especially if it’s gone saggy or has (unavoidable) indentations caused through use.

Cheers guys, the red owner is telling me the ACC light is on but it's a minor fix and does NOT affect the car in any way. Is this true?

I'd be concerned about any lights being on, it might be a minor fix but I'd want to plug it in and see the error codes before dropped 20 odd grand on eBay.

Not sure what he means by it not affecting the car in any way, does ACC work or not? Could be a sign of some other underlying issue.

Yeah makes sense, iv asked him a bit more about it.

I just can't find many stg 3 cars for sale, seen a nice spec stg2 but i just don't think 400 is enough with these.

I would definitely ask him to get a formal report on the ACC issue. In fact, I seem to recall that VW will charge like £150 for a "diagnostics check" - I don't know if that covers lots of things, or just a specific issue you ask them to look into, but at least that'll be official.

Or at least if he can get something from a garage / Indy that can prove it.

Or, you could just say "I assume it'll be about £500 to fix - so that off the price and you have a deal" ?

If it was a 'minor fix' then the seller would have/should have had it fixed before advertising.   ACC faults can be indicative of an underlying issue (as mentioned above).  I know this because I had an intermittent ACC error after remapping and assumed it was due to dodgy connection or similar after having an FMIC fitted but it turns out it was an over-boost condition which led to a spike in torque which in turn caused the ACC to fault and disable itself, e.g; it was a poor map

Defo worth making more enquiries about that or even to have it fixed as a condition of the sale or similar.

Yeah that leather in the blue R was depressing to look at. As much as cloth is the 'cheap' option, it does hold up well. My R has cloth seats and they look new even at 42k miles. In fact it was one of the things I was worried about with cloth seats - I thought the fabric will become loose and wrinkly, and that leather wouldn't do that...but the opposite seems to happen!

My ACC is really temperamental after another driver bashed into the front of my car in a carpark. On mine if the ACC light is on = it doesn't work. I've had it recalibrated to solve this. A few months after the recalibration the light came back on again and it didn't work again. Last time I washed the car I messed with the radar a bit, prodded it and pushed it. Now it works.

As for the two cars, both really nice! Shame there's not a front on view of the red one.

Red one - I think the black sideskirts and black painted lower rear bumper / diffuser is cool. The black extends to around the number plate which is quite unique. The gunmetal alloys and big brake kit is a massive bonus. Especially the brake kit.

Blue one - dechromed / blacked out, even the splitter, Everything it seems except the mirrors. Headlight brows and those window inserts I don't even know what they're called. Massive diffuser, spoiler extention lip.

Overall I would take the red one mainly because of the wheels and brakes, but also because of the exterior aesthetic choices.

This is what worries me the most, he is saying it's a £100 part but doesn't have the time to fix it at the moment!

If it's map/over boost related that does scare me a bit...
