Fallout remover / Tar remover

Happy new year all,

Not R related as I don’t have it anymore, however lots of knowledgeable people here so this is the best place to ask

Currently use Bilt Hamber Korrosol (fallout remover) and Autosmart Tardis (tarremover). They work brilliantly but the smell is horrendous. My car and drive has the strong chemical smell for days after washing. Can anyone recommend any alternative products that don’t smell so bad

On a side note…..I’m an APC convert. Never used it until today. Always a little sceptical of what it was and it’s uses (still don’t know uses if I’m honest). However after the initial jet wash of the car there was still quite a lot of dirt on the paintwork. I used a 20% dilution of APC on these areas, waited a couple of minutes then jet washed again; dirt washed straight off. Does much better than snow foam at removing dirt the initial jet wash leaves behind.

No, they all smell equally bad even the ones that purport to smell of lemons, peaches and other assorted tropical delights.  Embrace the chemical scent!

I must confess I love the smell of tar remover. Fallout remover smell I’m not so passionate about.  😄

Re APC, what other good uses does this magic liquid help with emoji3.png

There is a hint in its name (APC is an abbreviation for All Purpose Cleaner)  ;)

It is good on most plastic interior surfaces that are a bit dirty/grubby (but be careful, use at the recommended dilution ratios).

I wouldn't use it on leather, suede, alcantara etc surfaces without doing a test on an inconspicuous spot first.

Quite a few people also use it in the engine compartment etc (again , use at the recommended dilution ratios).

I think I've read of people using it on tyres as well.

APC can also take the place of something dedicated. For example, squirt a 1:10 mix of APC onto your tyres, scrub and brown residue will come off, just like with a dedicated tyre cleaner.

Use a more dilute ratio to help clean interiors, just like a dedicated interior cleaner.

Etc.

I do use it for tyres but I use CarPro Inside for, um, inside the car. It was jolly expensive and I'm sure dilute APC would have done!
