Slot under centre console lid?

Quick question, folks;  there is a 'slot' in the front face of the centre storage area between the front seats.  It's not visible when the lid is down.  Not deep enough for the valet card - any ideas of purpose?  Thought there could be some LEDs lurking........I'm desperate to know!  Nothing in the manual.

I noticed the same slot when cleaning mine a few months back, but no idea either. As you say it doesn’t fit a card as it’s only very very shallow (I tried my Shell card) and the slot is angled upwards and doesn’t go through to the inside of the armrest either.

Maybe a prep for an organiser ?

Maybe a gap so your finger nails don’t scratch the plastic when lifting the arm rest?

No because the arm rest lid is quite a bit longer than the base unit so unless you had some freakishly long fingertips that wouldn’t happen.
