george@BMS
We have released the JB4 for the Golf Mk8 R and models with the high power Gen4 motor. Had some dyno issues but averaged decent gains in third gear. We will run again once sorted and publish some final number but typically we get customer numbers quickly. The car is a easy 370hp car on 95Ron and 390hp can be expected on 98ron or higher. The JB4 unit is unique to this model due to the turbine speed sensor that showed various benefits when intercepted allowing us freedom with boost targeting. Released maps are capped at 390ft lbs for DSG but I have personally been running far higher torque values to test long term durability through the summer months here in South Africa with our UK Spec R. Recommended map guide: Map 0 Stock Map 1 95 ron Manual Map 2 95 ron DSG Map 3 98 Ron Manaul Map 4 98 Ron DSG Map 5 98+ Ron DSG or after market clutch Map 6 custom map As we get more data rolling in from around the world there will be software updated with further optimizing. Msportman
Those are some great figures. I know that VW recommended running a stock 7 / 7.5 R on 98 RON fuel so does the MK8R run happily on 95 RON fuel and still give good gains? Just wondered if VW recommend 98 RON on the MK8R and would 95 be detrimental in the long term? Also we have E10 fuel here on 95 so have you done testing on this new fuel? So the new turbo pushes a lot more psi? What does your 99 RON boost sit at? Good results for people who don’t want full blown remap.

Based on the car we tested in the US which also ran 95 the gains where 50hp so there is no long term negative. When fuel has ethanol in it there is typically a advantage when it comes to knock prevention as the ethanol produces less combustion heat. The E10 is actually better fuel than normal 95 with a lower ethanol content.

Vinniecoup
Nope, I ordered on the 4th and still no closer to it being shipped. I did speak to them on Monday and they said there's been an unexpected delay in shipment and they'll keep me updated
