@dopper99.  Andy, if you look at 4:07-4:14 secs in this video that @Dannybear83 posted yesterday in the video thread you can see there no engine cover.

Rebecca I think you may have solved the R build Mystery.  We are all waiting for the revised engine cover. There is a shortage of something that seems useless. I mean they can’t even build a plastic rubber cover for Christ sake. Let alone A car. I’m reaching for anything can’t you tell 😭😭😂 Heeeeeeeeeeeeeelp 🤯😊

I know chillly!  It’s a sad state of affairs all round.  Maybe the VW execs can make a rocket out of all the recalled engine covers and shoot the selves into space.  But it’s VW so that’s a no!  😬 😭 😂

With choosing black I’m going to feel like mad max when it arrives. Last of the mk8s 😊😎

When did you order your R 20 ?

I ordered pretty much the day the R20 was available to order in the UK. Late Aug or early Sept 2023 from memory. I guess the RS3 has an engine to try before you die and the likes of it will never be seen again. Even an R with Akrapovic can’t match it. The only downside is the image that goes with Audi - could I cope with adopting the usual Audi following distance? 😂

If you get an Audi be sure to spec the optional indicators too 🤪

It’s ok, i won’t need indicators as I have the optional high beam that automatically flashes the headlights when 2 metres behind the car in front! 😂

It’s just a fuel saving tactic like my m2 get in the slipstream of the car in front ha

I forgot about BMs are almost as bad as Audis. Less of an issue I gather because owners are never let of side roads so less following potential. M2 is a gorgeous looking car, at least in Mk 1 guise. The new Mk 2 is properly fugly.

Current thinking is to run RS3 so if anyone wants a 20 year R in Lapiz with DCC with build week 6 I will pass it on at list. Would be nice to help someone on here who’s been em waiting forever.  It is not a broker-supplied car but a main dealer supplied car at no discount. I would probably have to take delivery otherwise dealer will register the car and put it in the showroom and sell it for overs. That tends to be the way of things these days with such limited supply and you can’t blame dealers for maximising profit on the small number of Rs that reach them. I would just need a firm commitment that someone is having the car with no money changing hands until you can see the car.

Otherwise will just cancel the order and get my deposit back. I’m in no rush to do anything at present. Need to check with dealer if it was built last week.

I thought that I had to wait a long time for my Mk8 R in 2021 when it arrived in early September after ordering in late March. Turns out that I ordered just in time with some cars from May 21 not delivered.

Agree new m2 not the best looker. Still considering cancelling my R 20 order my m2 comp is fantastic to drive…. Well in the dry ha and has no annoying lane assist or active braking nonsense just get in and drive.
