Didn’t work for me IIRC

But it’s been a while

I think it may be locked one way or the other

@AHG: hmm......... OK. As I have said, I don't get to see many NAR model Golfs - let alone a NAR model Golf that's built on a MQB-evo platform (they are as rare as rocking-horse sh#t down here😜)!!

However, I can attest as factual that the equivalent channels on a MQB platform Golf works as I have described

If this is the pattern on your (NAR?) Golf and if this is a mk8 - then maybe check these 2 x channels on the 09 module:

  • ENG252999-ENG260606-ZV Quittierungen-Quittierton_beim_zweiten_ZV_AUF_Befehl
  • ENG252999-ENG258550-ZV Quittierungen-Quittierton_beim_zweiten_ZV_ZU_Befehl

ZV = ZentralVerriegelung = Central locking system. So, the channel names translate into English as -

  • Central locking system acknowledgment tone_ at the_second_ZV_ OPEN/(LOCK?)_command.

If either of these channel values is active, change to not active

I think it needs the alarm system that comes with it to do the chirp

Despite trying I never managed to turn my chirp into a honk

But I can say that the Tiguan not having an alarm system goes directly to honk

and on the first press, not the second (as in my 8R)

Very good point!

This is why these things are best left to interested amateurs (aka @dv52) to guide!  😄

My car is EU spec not NAR, so should be quite similar to UK but not identical.

As per the menus, I tried to switch those but it didn’t change it for some reason. And it did the same at opening and closing, despite one being active and one not active, on the second press.

I got used to doing a double tap, so maybe if I get bored I’ll try it again.

(sometime OBDeleven functions open up with time)

@AHG: Yes, Quittierungen-Quittierton_beim_zweiten_ZV_ZU_Befehl = active in your picture. This is likely the reason for your observation "My chirp also require a second press"

It required a double tap on opening as well, and it is not active in the AUF option, and IIRC did try to turn it off at the time, and I think it didn’t work at all, or stayed the same. I may try again, and will report if any change occurred.
