Richard_Nottm
Afternoon. My swissvax mirage has just ran out and im pondering a swissvax replacement. The mirage was £150 for 200ml. I've just DA'd my car and got a few coats of Mirage on it. I'm happy with the wax. Ive just seen a deal on Swissvax Scuderia Wax (more aimed at softer paint italian cars) but presumably a swissvax wax is a wax to some degree - 40% carnuba). Im just tempted as have seen a 200ml pot discounted from £160 to £98 Any experiences or views here? https://swissvax.co.uk/products/scuderia-carnauba-car-wax-for-ferrari-maserati-alfa-romeo-40-vol

They are all lovely to use and extremely easy to apply and buff off. I found the lower the carnauba content, the shorter the longevity and durability but (around 4-6 weeks life for the lower % ones). Crystal Rock with a much higher % lasts up to 3 months. All have a beautiful finish though including the lower % carnauba ones. That’s a good price for a Swissvax wax so why not give it a go! I recall seeing previous posts about your swissvax use. Ive got through the 200ml pot of Swissvax Mirage and more than happy. Its 40%. The scuderia is 40% and on offer. Supposedly aimed at italian cars with softer paints. Cant really see it being imcompatible (more a marketing thing with slight tweaks to products). Im inclined to give it a punt purley on the discount available. £100 feels better than £160. Pondered dropping down to the onyx but if can have a 40% wax than that would be better the 30% onyx. Im more than happy with the swissvax.

I did prefer the Onyx wax to the Best of Show on my deep black Pearl 7R, even though it was only 30%. There wasn’t much in it in terms of longevity but something about the Onyx I just liked better. If you do get the Scuderia, let us know what you think of it.

Clearly not many Ferrari owners buying it 🙂 Interesting you still rated the Onxy though over one of the crazy expensive options. Will keep you posted once i get it ordered. Wont need a fresh coat for a month or two though. Put 3 coats of mirage on recently. Thanks! Booth11
Richard_Nottm
Ordered. It was 2019 when i ordered the Mirage so its not too bad cost wise really - lasted 4 years! Booth11

Yes, Swissvax wax can actually be good value for money. Same with their shampoo Car Bath. You’ve ordered some Lotospeed too. My favourite QD. Superb for topping off the wax. Snapped this up as it was a bit cheaper. Ive got the car shampoo too....dont tend to use it much. Very pricey for the size of the bottle. Cars looking good and ready for spring. Its when can i be bothered to get the wheels off and ceramic coat them again....might be good for another year...its a bit like hard work!! 🙂

Looks like from Slims from the photo. I bought a bottle of it last month but it was £39 then. Sounds like the car is spring ready! Maybe the wheels will stretch, when we’re they last coated? I tend to take wheels off each year, give them a DA and seal with gtechniq c5/c1 whatever its called. They were done last year. I think they would be good for another year tbh. Its more the faffing of doing a wheel or two at a time, letting the product cure, refitting the wheel etc...Would be nice to do all 4 in one hit.....that mini / nano style polisher would help on the wheel face. Im happy with gtechniq but would be open to other product suggestions....95% of it is the prep, decontamination and polishing. The ceramic coat is the easy bit! Just dropped a coat on the bonnet (couldn't help myself!). Seems good. Slightly more yellow in colour than the Mirage. Not as fruity smelling (not that that matters!). It applied and buffed off very much the same as the Mirage. I think with the discount its a nice bargain and should hopefully offer comparable performance.
