Full detail

Well on Wednesday I decided I had plenty time to start giving the paintwork of the car a full detail. Sort of lack of images during my work but I knew this would be a long one so I just cracked on. I did get a few videos and images. And today I finally completed the polishing stage.

Full wash and decontamination using EZ car care Shampoo, Iron remover and tar remover. The car was then moved into the garage for clay bar and ready to polish.

2 stage polish completed using Scholls S20 black on purple polishing pad and final stage was Scholls S40 on orange polishing pads.

can't believe the results I managed to achieve with these 2 polishes it's like night and day on the car and the paintwork responded well to it and is probably one of the best details I have done. Managed to removed swirling and some deeper scratches but there is still some left however on a 6 year old car this is to be expected and I can't really complain as the previous owner looked after the car well mechanically but let it down on the paintwork. It's now looking amazing. I'm glad all the polishing is done.

I just have to tidy up the interior tomorrow, clean and treat the glass and then apply some wax to the exterior and it will be done.

here some snaps to enjoy.

What a fantastic job @RStevie!  Great work and great results!  😎

Looks like the Scholl polishes and pads combinations have worked wonders on the paint and swirls.   I think Scholl polishes/pads are superb, really nice to work with and reap excellent results.

Did you decide on what protection you’re going to use?  I recall you were thinking of wax.

Also great to see someone doing the detailing themself!

Yes the Scholl polishes have worked wonders on the paint. I was only going to do one stage but then did a test on the bonnet with the S40 and couldn't believe how much it refined the paint even more.

I will be putting a wax on it. I bought a load of products from EZ car care and received a free £50 mystery box which included their Ceramic wax extreme so I will be applying that everywhere. It claim 6-8 months life and I have a few top up products to help maintain it. I will get more photos out in the sunshine (if I get some) when I'm finished. 👍
