Jace
Has anyone else recently revealed an insurance quote that was at least 50% more than their current, despite nothing changing in vehicle or circumstances? currently paying £450 yet online renewal quotes are coming out at £750 , with ridiculous excess amounts too. dopper99
Yes I've read this elsewhere on other forums. Everyone's car insurance has gone up regardless of car or circumstances. We're all going to have to pay more. 😞

Microbe
Yes me too, Direct Line declined to quote me and Admiral wanted in excess of £1000! Most quotes on the comparison sites were £400 - £750 Renewal letter then arrived from GA ( a brand of Aviva) at £298!

I am always amazed at how low Insurance costs can be on an R, and will shop around when my Renewal is due in August. Enjoy that bargain price! Shug
Seems car (and house insurance) rates have increased a fair bit this year. Guess parts and labour increases as well as the time people are in courtesy cars waiting for parts to repair? I work in the insurance industry (industrial risk engineering) and seems that global re-insurers got hit by business interruption Covid claims as well as a few Nat Cat events last year, so primary insurers re-insurance has gone up. Plus with interest rates rising capital is flowing back to / de-risking to investments as guaranteed returns rather than the win/lose possibility of insurance dazbcos1969 and NRW
keano
Not double but both of my renewals went up - wife’s 1er by £10 (I couldn’t be bothered to shop around to get it lower so just accepted it) and the rs3 went up by £60 after shopping around for a better price - so I’m grateful mine weren’t as bad as some!! my rs3 is now the same price as my R was 2 years ago - the R used to be great for insurance but with them getting cheaper to buy they aren’t quite the bargain they used to be. Martin2 Posted Saturday at 06:19 Report Share Posted Saturday at 06:19 The R insurance renewal is due in July, I’m expecting it to be a lot higher. I’ve just had the renewal for my Range Rover. Having run it through the comparison sites and getting quotes from £1,600 (vs £580 last yr) I was pleasantly surprised that the renewal was ‘only’ £980.
