Jack278
Hi, First post here, I really need some help from you intelligent peeps! I was looking at buying the Eibach B12 Pro lowering kit which comes with their pro springs and shocks all around, for my Mk7.5 DNUE 2019 R (none DCC). I recently just had a service and they picked up my rear shocks getting close to their end of life. I have been wanting to lower the vehicle since I bought it. The reason I picked the B12 kit is because it has everything I need to both lower the vehicle and replace the shocks (for less than the price I was quoted by VW just to replace the shocks!) 😂 I have a few questions though. Is this kit suitable for daily driving, am I going to touch the pavement, speed bumps etc. - a lot of their adverts differ from 25mm-40mm which is really confusing, does anyone know that already has this kind of setup? Is there anything else I need to consider when buying this kit for example DCC? Is there any better alternative options? I'd like to lower it and have the looks and improved handling but without sacrificing daily drivability. I live in the UK and the roads are pretty rough. I have heard Eibach are solid in this territory, I'm open to suggestions however! Thanks in advance for any help! Jack
Imteyaz
I'll be keeping an eye out on the responses to this post myself as I'm looking for an answer too. I have been considering going the Ohlins route, it is more expensive compared to B12's but those that are much more knowledgeable than me (everyone) that have either had Ohlins fitted or have experienced the ride quality in a car with them on have had very positive things to say about them. I want OE or similar / better ride quality (90% of the daily usage is my work commute) but improved road holding / handling with the option to switch it up for track use (the other 10%). The only addition to the coilovers would be to change the top mounts and bearings (RS3 version as an OEM+ upgrade?) Jack278

Specifically the B12 static kit which comes with the Eibach pro kit springs and the Bilstein B8 shocks (not the coilovers). Not entirely sure what the drop is (its about the size of my finger shown in the image), but it daily drives perfectly. I have gone over multiple big industrial speed bumps with no issues and can also go up multi story carparks with ease. I'm really happy with it, definatley needs a flush kit though I have just purchased the ECS one so hopefully it should all look perfect after that. Here are some pics for you. 😎 Imteyaz
Imteyaz
That looks really good 👍. A nice drop and if the ride quality is good then you are on to a winner. Eibach springs have always been decent from my experience of using them in the past so I'm not surprised that the ride is still decent with that drop, they tend to settle after a couple of weeks use so the drop will look even more pronounced. It's given me another option as my first choice was always to go the Ohlins route but the price (at £2K+) puts me off. How much was this kit and where did you source it from? Thanks mate 😊 I honestly cannot believe how insane the ride quality is with just the B8s let alone rhe springs. Its brilliant, I do not regret it in the slightest, miles better than stock, and the turning circle is slightly better too! I did a small test drive with the rears after installing them with the stock fronts still on, and you could tell instantly that the stocks feel really spongy and its very off putting. I don't think I'll ever be able to go back. It's been about 2 weeks since I have installed them, having a full alignment and driving over 1500 miles it handles amazingly, both for city driving and on country roads with potholes. You can definitely feel the potholes as opposed to stock and you have to be careful. I drove over a few unavoidable ones and it deffo harsher when compared to stock (which is expected), kinda clenched a couple times 😂. But the overall experience, you feel so much more grounded and the steering wheel feels lighter with so much more control. I'm still waiting for my spacers but I'll send you a few more shots when they're installed as it does look kinda odd without them imo the rear wheels especially, due to their drop look like they're being sucked into the arches from certain angles. I spent £840 on the kit from CPPerfomance, perfectly fitted my DNUE 2019 7.5R. https://cp-performance.co.uk/product/bilstein-b12-pro-suspension-kit-golf-mk7-gtd-gti-clubsport-r/ I did have to wait a while (4 weeks) for the kit to be ready as Eibach needed to send the springs to Bilstein before it was ready to ship from Germany which took its time. But CPPerformance were really good the entire time and kept me up to date with the progress (I did have to call up) but they were super friendly as tracking was not provided until the package was shipped to the UK. The B8 kit above has bumpstops in the front already so you don't have to install them, which is really neat too, just an FYI as it took me forever to find out if they did or not since Bilstein customer service is none existent lmfao. Honestly all in all, I'd recommend the kit it's awesome performance wise, but from a visual standpoint it needs spacers. But otherwise if you have any other questions about the kit I'm happy to answer them, as I know how teadous it is to research stuff. sibbers and Imteyaz
