BATVAN
Need to get new tyre's all round as on the original Conti's that came with the "R" the car has done just over 23,000 with the Conti's (which ain't bad I suppose) I'm just torn between Ps4s, Ps5, Conti Spc7 & Eagle F1 Asy 6? Doe's anyone have any of these mentioned tyre's & how would you rate them over-all. I'm more concerned with grip in both wet & dry conditions, noise of tyre & edge of rim protection. Will be 235 x 35 x 19 tyre's. TIA

I would say a good all round tyre but a bit pricey, they have a small raised rim protector but this is of little use with the Petoria wheels IMO. Have now fitted Conti. Sport Contact 7 as these get good write ups in tyre tests. I am quite impressed so far (with cornering grip) after 5K miles but the original tread depth seems a little shallower compared to the PS4s. so I expect they will not last as long, time will tell. Jace
I was a big fan of GY Aym5 until I tried PS4S & they are definitely a little more grippy, or so it feels but the extra weight did effect mpg a little. One thing to consider is the tyre weight, I found Conti in 19" to be heavier but I don't have the CSC7 weight to compare.. Goodyear Asymmetric 5 - 9.58kg (20.95lb) Michelin Pilot Sport 4s – 10.10kg (22.26lb) Conti 6 FR XL - 13.430kg (29.61lb) BATVAN
Booth11
A mk8 rather than a mk7 (19" wheels) but I've got Conti 7s on my mk8 (replaced Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersports). The CSC7s are proving to be a superb tyre (dry and wet grip, comfort, noise) and a very worthy alternative to the proven PS4S which I had 2 sets of on my 7R (and were excellent) I've yet to go through a winter on the Conti 7s but so far so good and winters usually mild in my neck of the woods. sibbers
For me it keeps swinging back and forth from pilot sports to F1’s, and currently preferring F1’s for noise and feedback. PS5’s may be more grippy, but PS4’s seem to need more temperature and are less communicative than the F1 AS6’s imo. I seem to enjoy the F1’s a bit more. Tiny margins tho. Now I’m wondering what the contis are like. They’re all good let’s face it. I remember once buying some Falken FK-453’s and hating them. The 452s were wonderful. Not had a disappointing tyre since Michelin and GY have been turning out these wonderful boots. BATVAN
BATVAN
Cheers everyone for your info so far 👍 definitely some food for thought & let's be honest, I suppose no matter what tyre I go for out of the mentioned one's above I can't go wrong really. I was intrigued by these michelin pilot sport all season 4 tyre's but don't think these are available for the UK?

Similar experience here. After having Conti SC5, Goodyear AS5 and M PS4S on my MK7 over the last 4 years currently on Conti SC7 and they are a just a level above everything else out there now...went and dry grip fantastic all round tyre. BATVAN
Prior to posting this I was on the PS4s vibe but I seem to be drawn to the Conti SC7 now? Price is cheaper & they seem to have a great review, the only odd bad review I've seen is down to wear/lasting but I suppose that is down to how heavy your right foot is 🤣 I'm sure if the original set on Conti's I currently have (23,000) miles then I'm sure the new SC7 will last just as well? Edit: Now back on Ps4s vibe. Lol. Confusing as hell when you have to many choices. Joint 1st for me is PS4s & SC7 2nd will be the Asy 6 I've definitely disregarded the PS5 just from more review statistics?
BATVAN
Tell me guys (Sorry) but do the PS4s suffer a lot from cracking along the edges? Been reading some reviews which mention the PS4s do crack up at the sides? The Conti's SC7 seem a good choice but no certain spec on how much tyre tread it comes with (mixed info) & a few reviews mention the tread does not last & that some of these new SC7 only come with 7mm of tread from the start? So some folks only been getting about 6-8k out of the tyres?

Be interesting to hear regards usage. Ive got 13k miles from Hankook Evo 3. I’ve also read that they come with 7mm tread but then seems difficult to find out the definitive facts. I think it’s around the 7mm mark. Mine were fitted 23/3/23. I forgot to measure the starting tread unfortunately. Tyre tread depth was recorded at visits to my dealership on 18/5/33 and then again on 31/8/23 (the latter at 3,080 miles) and both times recorded as having 6mm on fronts, 7mm on rears. That was the dealership figure though and they aren’t always the most accurate I’ve found. I’ll dig out my tyre tread depth gauge out this week and measure them myself. They now have 5,180 miles on them. BATVAN
Par
Anyone running the latest Bridgestone Potenza Sport tyres? They seem to get good reviews. Had mixed experiences in the past, never dreadful but the replacement for the Honda S2000 model specific tyre was nowhere near as good as the original. Adam7.5R
My tyres I will be looking to replace soon and I have a similar dilemma. Really like the sound of the Conti 7s but don't fancy the high wear they seem to encounter. Is the wet/dry grip on the Eagle f1 AS6 really that much worse compared to the MPS4S or other offerings such as the Eagle f1 super sports? They seem like a an amazing tyre but unsure how big the drop in grip is to the UUHP tyres? BATVAN
sibbers
Worth a watch I’d say. For me, not able to speak to latest Contis although older ones always felt like 2nd best to me, I felt the differences were outright ability being in favour of Michelin and driver feedback and engagement favouring GY. All within tiny margins and not worth thinking too much about, but the cost, comfort and street performance of F1’s ended up being what I chose. The UUHP variants are not what I’d want through the next couple of seasons, but it’s what I’d have gone for if I was younger. Price not a factor, but obviously you pay more for them. Adam7.5R
@sibbers What tyre are you running atm? What's your opinion on the F1 AS6's compared to the Michelins.
