  1. Afraid not. The ride felt fine during the test drive (a road and motorway). However, UK B roads are a completely different kettle of fish - which is where I find the ride to be harsh. I'm sure your NZ roads are for superior! I certainly hope they are.
  2. Thanks. Really appreciate the help. I’ve turned the white thing around (360 degrees)and it’s definitely not meant to be removed. It is, clearly, an integral part, which I must not pi55 about with.
  3. Thanks for the suggestion. Appreciate it. However, the white thing you can see in the picture cant be removed. It's clearly an intended part. With regards pressures, would it be safe to deflate the tyres to 32psi?
  4. Not at all. The road noise is preferable to my Audi. I'm so useless at this! I'm struggling to push the bloody rubber cover back down where's it's supposed to be after checking for the transport pucks!
  5. The transport pucks have been removed. Thanks for the advice. The picture is below.
  6. The car has covered 10k miles. I purchased it from an approved used VW dealer. The car is standard - according to the dealer, and my knowledge really is limited leaving me unable to check. Please can you give me some tips? Things I can look for to make sure the car is standard?
  7. Hi everyone. Sorry for the delay. I didn’t expect such an expeditious response, so thank you! Im no expert so forgive me if I’m using the wrong parlance, but the car arrived on Bridgestone Turanza t005 tyres. Are they worth changing? Also, would it be possible to deflate the tyres further? Maybe 32psi? delboy - I’m looking for help - not UNhelpful hindsight. I travel circa 10k miles a year in total, and took the car for a test drive where I’ll drive it the most (a roads /motorway). The ride is actually quite accommodating on the motorway, with significantly lower levels of road noise compared to the Audi. I just find the ride harsh on our 30 mph B roads which are, quite frankly, pitiful. The car seems to dislike the mixture of low speed and pitted surface.
  8. Last Friday, I collected a 2017 Golf R (18" wheels) without "dynamic chassis control". By way of background.............. I've been a company car driver for circa ten years, with my most recent car being a 2017 Audi A3 sline 2.0 turbo (petrol) also on factory fitted 18" wheels. The car is due to be handed back to my employer shortly as I've opted for the car allowance instead of the company car, hence the Golf. Naturally, I took the Golf for a test drive before buying it, and the ride appeared acceptable. Either that, or I was too distracted/seduced by the power. After driving the car for a few hundred miles, I'm becoming concerned about the ride. It feels surprisingly harsh compared to the Audi, which I still have on my drive and have driven back to back with the Golf along the same roads. I've reduced the tyre pressure to 34psi instead of 38psi which has made a nominal difference, although the car still feels annoyingly jarring on our pot hole covered "roads". I wondered if any of you kind and knowledgeable people could offer me some advice?
