  1. Thanks guys for the replies. The Haldex service was done at 21000 and spark plugs at the same time (so 10000 miles ago). It's had 5 oil changes in total since new, plus all the filters, inspections etc at the right times so seems to have been properly cared for. I think in my own mind I'd already decided that I wanted to do the DSG oil change as that was the only thing I could see that hasn't been done and you've helped make my mind up. Anyone recommend a specialist in Nottingham 🙂
  2. HI Penguin. I found in the history there is a remap session report from a company called JBS (looks like stage 1) and it looks like there is a CLP service invoice that includes a cost for a R600 intake and Racing line turbo elbow. I think however the intake and turbo elbow have been removed as I can see an OEM filter box physically on the car.. I was intending to remap at some point anyway so not too concerned about the remap already on (as a former C2S 997 driver the car is effing quick 🙂 but it makes me think I need to get the DSG oil changed....What did you pay to get it done?
  3. Hi there, I wonder if any of you could advise me? I recently bought a VW golf R estate DSG. It's a Oct 2015 car that's done 31000 miles and looks to have been maintained properly with a main dealer service and then looked after mainly by CLP automotive who look to be a respected AUDI/VW/BMW specialist. My question is though, looking at the service history it hasn't had the DSG oil changed since new. I'm just wondering does this need to be done based on the mileage at 40000 miles or if it should be done as it's now more than 4 years old. I'm not one to cut corners on maintenance but on the flip side I don't want to do unnecessary maintenance. Thanks in advance for any advice.
  4. Hi Stefano. Thanks for your post. I am doing it for the bike rack. I have a towbar mounted buzzrack for 4 bikes from my old car that I would like to "recycle". Interestingly I'm familiar with the saris bones 3 and I agree its a great bike rack. I might end up using that as still have one gathering dust in the garge and put the extra one on the roof!!
  5. Hi Growmac. Do you still have your Golf R Estate? I'm thinking about having the same towbar fitted and had already realised the diffuser will have to be cut.... 😅but I just wondered if you could post a couple of pictures of how it looks with the towbar unattached. How big is the hole, is it very visible without the towbar in place etc? Did you also have any thoughts about what you might do if you come to sell the car etc? Sorry for all the questions but would really appreciate any extra info before making the decision... Thanks, Scott
