Having hit a few potholes now, a couple quite heavily, my car (Mk 7 Golf R) now creaks a bit when turning at low speed (e.g. out of the drive).
If one of the shock absorbers has gone, can it be replaced by "any old mechanic", without needing knowledge of the DCC system, or would the mechanic need specialist knowledge and equipment?
Is the DCC built into the shocks themselves (and are they therefore expensive) or is it built into the chassis?
(My car is booked in for an MOT tomorrow (at a non-specialist) and am trying to figure out what I will need to do if they say the shock has gone.)
Thanks!!
