  1. I can speak to the oil and filter - super simple job. You can reuse the drain plug in a pinch. No need for any OBD tools, you can set the service reminder using the steering wheel controls, see this video:
  2. Cam adjuster is all over the place. Magnets would be a good starting point. The behavior looks the same as this video:
  3. I swapped the injectors yesterday. I found that I had left an extra o-ring on the cyl 3 injector, which was probably causing the issue. The idle is still a bit choppy during a cold start but seems to be better once the revs fall. I will post another update if the cylinder hide comes back. Thank you guys for the help.
  4. £900 is wild. Fortunately I’ve pulled the intake manifold off before, so it shouldn’t be too hard to install new injectors without paying someone. I found 4 Bosch injectors for $310, which is nice. This also lets me see how much carbon has built up in 10k miles
  5. Well if this solves it, that will be so nice. And $350 for bosch injectors and gaskets over here is not too bad. I have placed the order and will post an update.
  6. It is a US model, so no MPI The plugs have been swapped quite recently, but the issue also happened on the old plugs. Looking through codes, It is multiple cylinders misfiring, see them below. P0300/3B21 - Random Misfire P0301/3B15 - Cyl 1 Misfire P0302/3B18 - Cyl 2 Misfire P130A/3AE2 - Hide Cylinder New codes I found that may be telling: P02EE/6955 - Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Range/Performance P02F0/6957 - Cylinder 3 Injector Circuit Range/Performance P2279/6704 - intake air system leak P0068/3AFC - MAP/MAF - Throttle Position Correlation P0068/6702 - MAP/MAF - Throttle Position Correlation If these dont point to anything clear, I may just do a parts bin special and replace coils and then injectors if that doesn't fix it.
  7. I may have done the service in them, a wipe and new seals. It would not surprise me if my work was questionable. ill order some new injectors and see if that makes my problem disappear. was there anything in the log text that would point you in that direction?
  8. Hi all! I have a 2017 MK7 Golf R with about 103k on the clock. EQT stage 2 tune w/o intercooler. I have been battling to find the cause of an intermittent misfire at idle/low speeds which sometimes results in a hide cylinder, making the engine run super rough. If I turn the car off and let it sit for a minute it goes away when I turn it back on. No issues at high power/WOT. I managed to capture the car going through one of these hard misfires today on my AP. Does anyone know what could be causing this? I have tried plugs and coils, I have also done carbon clean and injector service. Thank you all!
