I'm still having the issue and it's becoming very annoying having to restart the head unit every time it happens. And just the other day my car alarm went off, first flashing lights with no sound and then an hour later just alarm sound and no lights. Got an email saying external trigger via the VW app but checked CCTV and there was nothing I could see. I am going to plug an ODB11 in and see if it gives any information. I've got to say I'm one for technology but all these software glitches and issues are ruining my experience with this car.

First start it will connect fine, but 5 mins later if I come back it'll just be a black screen inside the app. When it's actually connected it's not a problem in terms of data but it's just the gremlins of finding out why it's started misbehaving all of a sudden.

Anyone had any issues with Android Auto or Car Play? Since yesterday it struggles to connect, and when it does sometimes it's just a black screen within the app. I've had to hold down the power button on the infotainment system for it to reboot (letting go when the R logo comes up) for it to sync again. Not sure if there was a recent update or if anyone has faced this before.

I've recently enabled auto lock when walking away from the car and have enabled the sound, however it seems to be quite intermittent, cant figure out if there is any scenario it wouldn't make the beep sound. Anyone have any intel on this?

Very interesting piece of kit but not sure I can swallow the cost so may just opt for the routine option below and turning it into muscle memory for now

Has anyone used ODBEleven Pro with their 8.5? I must be blind or oblivious but quite a few things I wanted to change which I thought were possible don’t seem to be available. some things I wanted to change: 1) audible sound when locking the vehicle 2) disable start stop 3) disable beeping sound when driver door open 4) disable seatbelt warning sound

Just a bit of an update, got the OBDEleven and was able to clear the airbag error, job done.

Had a go at the dashcam and all was going well but I accidentally disconnected the passenger side airbag whilst doing the install and forgot to plug it back in before turning on the ignition. I've now got an Airbag error and also a "12v battery is being discharged, please start the engine" I tried to use Carista to clear the airbag error but it failed to do so, I have bought an OBDEleven tool which I'm hoping will be able to do it. Has anyone come across these issues before?

Afternoon all, Stumbled across this forum and have been reading all your posts to get as much info as possible on this lovely beast of a car. I took delivery this morning of a 8.5 R in Lapiz Blue, coming previously from a Cupra / Leon / Tiguan / now Golf R it feels like I'm in the seat of the Cupras big brother. Still in the discovery phase of everything and appreciate all the insightful comments and tips/tricks! I'm really intrigued with the HK sound system I hope I've got it as standard, will check shortly. Has anyone attempted to install a dashcam themselves down the A Pillar? I was tempted to do this myself I did install it on the Cupra on my own) but the talk of the airbag being there worries me a bit.
