  1. Having just had a full ceramic detail by Wow Factors I thought I would render my opinion on the forum in the form of a semi-literate mini review. So, to start our story... Prologue I collected my brand spanking new Lapiz Golf R at the end of December. The showroom prepared it for me and on inspection it looked pretty damn good. I had to go to Wales (they did the best deal) some 200 miles from where live and the drive home was in torrential rain through salt road, muck and mud. Upon arriving home and seeing my new beauty looking like I had just done a rally, in light of the fact I have a family and demanding career and can no longer spend my weekends pampering and polishing as I used to I decided to arrange a protection detail. However, before doing that I decided to take my car to a local 'posh wash' which advertises detailing, has pro-detailing branding everywhere and always has nice / expensive cars being done. My logic was that it was probably the best of the options short of doing it myself. Car looked clean and away I went. Its been dark and horrible so I couldn't see anything but a clean car. Then, two days before I was due to take it to Wow Factors for the detail the dun was finally out and while at the shops I looked at the paintwork ion the sun and nearly vomited. It was covered in swirls as badly as my 5 year old Merc. Don't know whether it was the dealer or the car wash (i suspect the later) but it looks like it had been washed with rocks, then buffed with wire wool. I had booked it in with Wow based on a 'new car detail' so felt I should alert Marvin at Wow to the potential gap in the correction he was expecting to perform and what might be required. He said he would look at it but not to worry too much. The Detail Dropped her off first thing in the morning. Later on in the day I got some helpful update photos from Marvin showing an area of the paintwork post-clean but pre-polish. This is on a 2 week old car thats been washed twice!!! Confirmed my fears and the note said it was terribly scratched but he would sort it out, no extra charge. Post first stage polish and looking much better. Went to collect it the next day at the full Ceramic needed 12 hours to cure and I must admit it looked spectacular. I walked over it with a fine tooth comb for about 15 mins under LED lights and was spotless. Here are the photos. They are from texts to unfortunately low-res but you get the idea: So, overall I'm super impressed with Gtechniq and particularly Wow Factors in Orpington, Kent. Huge thanks to Marvin who was working from 10am to 7.30pm at night and did the additional correction without extra charge. Took a real pride in his work and took care of my pride and joy also. Top marks! Thoroughly recommend it! The End? So, is this the end of the story of our plucky hero and his metallic steed? Alas, no! Not 24 hours later I had to drive 30 miles to Gatwick airport and had to drive past and through a feking salting lorry on the M25. It sounded like my car getting battered with hail - except it was in fact hundreds of thousands of small rocks. Dont remember much as the red mist descended but distinctly rember screaming "muther f*&^%ers" as I drove through the barrage. Stopped at Gatwick long-stay parking for a little bit of a cry and took this photo Que sera - nothing stays new forever I suppose On the plus side, with the Getchinq CS and Exo detail I just had to point a hose at the car and the muck just fell off, water beaded up and looked like it had just been re-detailed. Amazing stuff! Stay tuned for my upcoming review of the QS Tuning MTM M-Cantronic box in the next couple of weeks.
