  2. That's fine, at least the whole thing doesn't go to waste. PM me you email address and I'll send them on now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Anyone? These are free! I can just email them over..... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Hi! Yes it's a fun place to hang out. I would check in more often but having to sell my R still stings a bit. [emoji20] oh I do miss it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Hi, I have 2 adult tickets and 2 child tickets plus access to the club stand. I can no longer make the show so these are available to anyone who wants to go. They are e-tickets so I can simply email them on. They have my name on them but I can't see why that would be a problem. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Hello everyone. Not been on here for a long time. Got my tickets and even though I'm not in an R anymore I would still be attending this just to catch up with everyone. For some health reasons though (I won't bore you all with the details) I won't be able to make this. Shame. My tickets were emailed through recently and so if anyone wants them please let me know. There's 2 adult tickets and 2 child tickets, and obviously access to the club stand. Sorry I can't make it myself, but happy to send the tickets on to anyone who will make use of them. 7. Haha brilliant. I don't know with this car. One minute it's on the next it's not. It's seen testing then it's scrapped. It's a 2.0 then it's a 2.5. Then it's going to be like the concept then it's just a standard car with nicer wheels....... Blah blah blah. Haha. They certainly have kept everyone guessing! Either way I have my name on a list at my dealers and if it happens and it's good and it's got a 2.5 engine and it's not £60k and it looks as cool as the concept and I don't have to wait two years for one and its actually real then maybe just maybe I'll get one. Maybe. https://www.facebook.com/rforum/posts/1245601118800955 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Absolutely! So glad I didn't have to put it back to standard. That would have been a total crime. The new owner knows his cars and will undoubtedly do a great job improving it further.
  9. prefessional photographer work, didn't think it was fair. Awesome shot though isn't it!
  10. So it's a very sad day. My R has been sold. I'm pleased to say it's gone to a fellow petrol head and forum member who intends to take the car to the next level. But to see it go was very sad indeed. My heart and soul has gone into that car, but it was the right time to let it go and it had to be done. Big thanks to everyone who has contributed to this build thread over the years I've owned the car. This forum is great and being part of it has greatly added to the fun of owning my R. I will continue to watch the forum and keep an eye on how my old car develops further. Big thanks again to everyone on here who has helped and advised me along the way.
  11. R is sold. My search for a replacement led me to one conclusion. GTR. It's an itch that must be scratched. But it's also just that bit too expensive just now. So the R is sold and the saving begins. Probably the end of the year but it will be worth the wait. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread. It has been a huge help.
  12. No it honestly felt super planted. I had the settings all on those recommended in reviews and forums (I've been researching haha) and it felt truly awesome. I was very impressed.
  13. Golf R 3 door DSG stage 2+ with much much more... http://www.vwroc.com/forums/index.php?/topic/13077-Golf-R-3-door-DSG-stage-2%2B-with-much-much-more%2E%2E%2E Sad times
  14. So the M4 was surprisingly awesome. I had a nice long test drive in it on familiar roads in cold wet conditions and it was mega. So my thinking is the GTR is my favourite but honestly I can't stomach the potential costs if something goes wrong. It's supercar money. I'm not there yet financially to cope with that. But a nearly new M4 can be had for this this money. (The GTR would be 6 years old!). So I have the backing of warranty etc. The real turning point in my decision was just how close to GTR fun this M4 came. It was just great. So now I'm looking to sell my lovely 6R. Can't believe I'm even thinking it. But it's time to move on. I'll miss it so very very much but I'm a hopeless petrol head and just need something else. See my for sale post...... 15. Oh and I saw this little beauty at the Porsche garage....... £250k !!!!!!! Ouch.
  16. So the 911 test drive didn't happen. I talked to the salesman who was very nice, but we couldn't agree on a car at the price I was after so he understandably wasn't going to let me drive a car I probably wasn't going to buy. Makes sense. So that didn't happen. Anyway, as lovely as they are I think it's off the list anyway as those rear seats really aren't useable. And I need to carry my kids at least a couple of times a week. Shame I didn't get to drive one, it would have been nice to have a go Next up, M4 test drive on Saturday.
  17. The M4 interior was very very nice. A bit "grown up" but then I guess I'm not 20 anymore The GTR was miles behind in this respect but I soon forgot all about that. Haha. The GTR actually did not feel big. It did when I first sat in the drivers seat, but once moving it felt small and nimble. I suppose the cabin is actually quite small and I couldn't see much of the bonnet, so that might be why it gives a sense of being more compact than it actually is.
  18. Totally! It's a fantastic car. So much fun. And I agree those little design quirks are brilliant.
  19. A dream car for me too. Feels weird even considering the thought of buying something so awesome. My 8 yr old son sat in the back on the GTR test drive. He loved it. Whenever I show him pics now of any other car im considering he flatly refuses to even entertain the idea that any car could be as awesome as the GTR. Haha. He does realise how lucky he is. I remind him that this is what my dad drove me around in at his age........
  20. Worries me to look at a 60,000 mile car. Never bought anything with so many miles on it. Plus surely it's supercar money to maintain a 997 turbo. Managed to find an M4 to test drive. Should be happening this week. Sat in one today and it's a lovely car. Very very nicely made, and looks great inside and out. Not quite that GTR visual wow factor but still pretty stunning.
  21. I'll be in touch dan. Can you just confirm, with no previous experience of this type of car (rwd 2 seater) will you limit the bhp of the car I can choose?
  22. yes but I guess almost anything will feel slow compared to the GTR ! I didn't find the suspension too bad and I know there are several good options out there to improve it, not that I've been researching endlessly hour after hour for days on end haha
  23. Ha I know I know. It's still an option. GTR was a 2012. Had Nismo seats and Nismo exhaust. Other than that it was stock. Hard to imagine needing the various "stages" available for the GTR. 911 is a C4S pdk. No match for the GTR power, I suppose a turbo s would be the best match. But I'm interested to see the quality and handling differences. Will be interesting.
