  1. I've been looking at GTis over the last few hours but after watching a few YouTube videos of the 7.5 R I'm really liking them, but I love the virtual cockpit of the S3 the dash in the Golf doesn't look at premium at the Audi. I was going to wait until next year but my itch needs scratching 😳
  2. TBH all of the reasons you gave above are the exact reasons I got rid of my Mk6, I found it boring to be frank. Ive been looking at a 2018 S3 Black Edition saloon with virtual cockpit, 19s, panoramic roof, folding mirrors, technology pack plus a few other bits and bobs. This is on at £33900 with 1800 miles on the clock, ex demonstrator. Ive recently started looking at alternatives, don't want BMW as they all might as well be the same car from the inside plus my wife has a M140i, can't justify or even afford a A45 so it kind of brings me back to the Golf which I've slagged off for the last few years 🤣 Started pricing Golf Rs and S3s on Carwow last night to see what they are priced at new after spending the day looking on Auto Trader at used cars, not many about with leather mind and the ones that have it seem very pricey! So my head scratching goes on....... 😳
  3. Looking to replace my daily and I've been drawn to a S3 / Golf R. Just wondering if the digital dash on the R is the same as the virtual cockpit on the S3. I see the Rs are still stupidly experience 🤔 Cheers.
  4. Has this turned up yet? Just being nosey.
  5. Tickets from £35 at the Metro Arena in Newc@$tle.
  6. They are in his workshop, all carpeted out with white walls and bright pure white lights.
  7. Haven't been at all impressed with the condition of the M135i so I've had it detailed over the last couple of days. Happy an now and can recommend Deluxe Detailing for any North East based owners. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set ... 290e4f059c
  8. A1 North bound around 7:30 around Newton Aycliffe, taking it very steady.
  9. Bump. Anyone on here yet?
  10. Rising Blue 3 door around 5pm, some knobhead at the wheel using his phone, I was positive they had bluetooth.
  11. Just wondering if the new owner has popped up on here, that's assuming its been sold, which I'm reliably informed it has been. Reg DY11 if anyone has it. Andy.
  12. My purple monster is a match for most things.
  13. Tbh I wasn't that bothered to see the R go, probably tempered by the excitement of getting my very first brand new car and that fact I'd gone 30 odd hours without sleep. First impressions of the Beemer are positive, surprisingly spacious inside, great ride quality....firm but not crashy, auto box is super smooth, sounds fantastic on start up, I would imagine it'll sound not too bad once the taps are opened up but I've only done 65 miles so it'll be a while before its run in. Over all very very pleased, on another note.......I thought the R hid water well after it'd been washed but its an amateur compared to the 135, absolute mare to dry! Took my Wooly Mammoth and Purple Monster to beat it.
  14. Well, the R has gone. The King is dead, long live the king. New car tucked up in the garage, with 50 odd miles under its belt.
  15. I've had a text from the salesman at BMW and he's sold the R already!
  16. Sorry I've only just seen this, the car is specced as per my signature with around 13,400 miles on a 11 plate, I'm part exing the Golf simply because there is outstanding finance on it and it keeps things simple but I would be looking for circa £23500 but I've only got a few days before I pick the BMW up!
  17. Yeah, I couldn't get the right car, well not at he right price anyway. Ended up deciding to sell and going for M135i, brand new, £5k less than VW wanted for a Mk7 R!! Just waiting for delivery, expected early July. Andy.
  18. Welcome mate. Lookers in Darlo have a Lapis Blue one in but I'm sure it's over £32k!
  19. I've just been recommended a detailer from not too far away from me and he's quoted me £100 for a new car detail, it basically involved the decontamination and sealing of the paint, this is of course dependent on the paint being swirl free. Estimated 6 hours to carry this out. If I want wheels removing and the same process applied plus sealing the windows that's another hundred quid but total time is now a day and a half. Just to give you a comparison.
  20. The drive back was horrific, not because of the car being stock but because of the bloody weather and all the twats who think its perfectly fine to drive on a motorway at 70 mph in the pouring rain with probably 50 yards of visibility without their fekin lights on. I gave up in the end and stopped a Wetherby service just to chill for half an hour or so. As for the Beemer, I'm keeping it standard, but having said that I was supposed to keep the Golf standard.......only lasted a couple of months. I'm sure a straight 6 with a turbo strapped to it and 320 bhp will be enough to keep me entertained.
  21. Driving to Statllers yesterday, in the 50 mph road works, looked nice even in the pi$$y rain.
  22. That Mexico was to die for but I started with Fords so always got a bit of a soft spot for the blue oval.
