I think this was a pretty fair review. I researched the Subarus (STi and WRX) long and hard before buying the R. Were there no R or GTI I would have bought an STi or a WRX. However, I need the "daily driver" aspects of the car. And I (unlike the reviewers on the video) LIKE the fact that the R is almost painfully un-flashy and will be thought by most to be "just another Golf". I do not care one whit what people think about what I am driving. The reviewers other big gripes were about the transmission and throttle and all seem to take place in more aggressive driving than I do. And they forgot to mention that the hatchback is super useful!

Hello everyone! And thank you for supporting this forum. I learned a ton from you whilst searching out the R. Not the easiest car to find in the US. Picked up my new MK7 R this past weekend. Haven't owned a VW since my '89 GTI. The R is probably the last self-drive gasoline powered car I'll own. But what a way to go! Cheers OY
