Urgh, came down the other day to find somebody had kicked my passenger side wing mirror off during the night. Went through my cctv and have a grainy video of some guys just walking over to my R and just kicking it off. Anyway, it looks like they broke the mount for the mirror (pic attached). Any ideas/help on where to look for spares/replacements. Hoping I don’t have to replace the whole thing as it just seems to be the mounting itself that’s broken. Thanks in advance 🙂

I’m not saying that they aren’t useful now. But there is already tech that could replace a lot of those functions and make number plates redundant. There are many places that already only have 1 plate on the car. I would be surprised if we all had number plates in 20 years, that’s all I’m saying. I could be totally wrong, of course! I’m guessing we won’t have number plates forever. Similar to tax disks. Not much point these days. We’ll still be in the EU any then I’d imagine! [emoji23]

Yeah, truth be told I’m happy with the standard kit. You get lots of goodies! I wonder what the driver profiles are meant for them, do they actually change anything? I just assumed they were for when you had splashed out for memory seats...

Pretoria’s, sunroof and DCC would have been my options if I’d gone for any other that colour. Memory seats would be great too. I presume that they use the driver profiles to position the seat depending on who is selected?

Thanks for letting me know, it’s impossible to find any information about it! I just found it has Dynamic Light Assist too. Score! Yeah, it’s great. Top tip today is always double check that the lid is firmly on your coffee before slotting it in the cup holder!! [emoji2361]

I’ve still not been able to find where the standard equipment is listed for the Golf R as VW have taken it all down since launching the Mk8, so I don’t know if the keyless entry, reversing camera and lane assist are extra treats or normal. But I was pleasantly surprised [emoji16]

Nice, I’ve blessed my last four cars, so have always taken it with no options apart from maybe the colour. I though the golf was well equipped in the U.K., but sounds like you’re lucky in Canada to get so much as standard! 12 hour drive, I presume you’re driving about half the width of the country? What a great way to get to know your car!

It’s a bog standard 3 door Golf R. Registered in March. Only option is Lápiz blue because my last one was white and every day I walked up to it I wished I’d got the Lápiz blue one. My estate went back in October. I’ve been driving a Honda Jazz for the time being. [emoji24]
