  1. Don, Again, thank you very much. Fortunately this adaptation uses the same settings on OBDEleven as it does on VCDS. With your guidance I was able to reactivate the headlamp washers. Many thanks,
  2. Dear (You) Here's a good one for you. Using OBDEleven I disabled headlamp washers using this sequence: Deactivate headlight washers Select Central Electrics Select Coding Scroll down the very long list until you find Scheinwerferreinigungslage Change to not installed - Press the "tick-button" to enable the change NOW... My OBDEleven dongle has failed (again) and has been returned (again) and I need to re-enable the headlamp washers. Does anyone have the coding to disable/enable headlamp washers by changing this value using VCDS? Would it be the same on the VCDS options? Or any other way to re-enable the system with VCDS? Kind regards,
  3. Don, Thank you very much. This looks more familiar to what I was seeing when attempting to revert to the standard settings. I'll give this a go (in reverse order). Thanks again.
  4. Dear (You), I'm struggling to revert my 5 brake light mod back to standard. This is the original coding I used (I think - it was a while ago) STG09 (Central Electronics)> Access Authorisation: 31347 Adaptation ChannelsLeuchte27 NSL RC6-Lichtfunktion C27 change "not active" to "Brake light" Adaptation Channels Leuchte27 NSL RC6-Dimming CD27" change "0" to "100" Shouldn't it be as simple as reversing the procedure or is there something I'm missing? Kind regards,
  5. Been looking into this further. Will probably end up going with alloys as largest steel width is 6” whereas most alloys are 7” plus. I was looking at 235/45 R17 sticking to the current 235 tyre width, but the recommended tyre size is 215/50 R17. Stay at 235 or move to the recommended 215? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  7. According to this information they ‘should’ fit: http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?7243104-mk7-golf-R-WINTER-WHEELS and http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?7153030-Golf-R-on-17-quot-Wheels but was just asking if anyone knows for sure and if ET37 offset would fit or require spacers. 8. Looking to fit Winter / All Season tyres. From my information gathering it appears 17" wheels will fit over the brake calipers. (Can anyone confirm this is correct?) The wheels I've located are: 6.5 x 17" ET37 5x112 Will these fit? Will I need spacers? Thanks in advance. Kind regards,
  9. Is that the cache in Bluetooth Share? I've just tried that and still no joy. Anything else I can try? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I've just received a replacement dongle as my previous unit would connect (eventually) then just disconnect. The new dongle, no matter what I've tried, will not even show up in the Bluetooth list to pair/ connect. Unless I'm really unlucky and received another duff, what have you guys done to successfully connect? Kind regards, Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I'm sure this will have been mentioned previously but at this point in the thread it's also worth mentioning that pressing the 'RES' button on the steering wheel also restarts the engine and re-engages ACC. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. DON'T DO IT! Seriously... At the very worst you 'could': Get a Race Glaze 0ppm water filter Then, ValetPro Citrus Pre-wash Rinse Snow Foam Rinse (with filtered water) No drying No water spots No buckets No wash mitts (Reduced chances of marring) Not perfect, but will keep the worst of the road grime at bay. 'Could' be an in between option... ...but that's just one mans opinion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  14. Thank you for all the responses and advice. I'm going with the FLEX XC 3401 VRG and Meguiars 5" MF Pads and D300/D301 kit. I (hopefully) have sourced an elusive 4 -3/8" FLEX backing plate for the 5" pads. A friend is letting me loose on their '02 Polo in Black next week, so I'll post photos of the results.
  15. Thanks for your feedback. Are those a particular brand of MF pad you've had delaminate? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I'm in the process of upgrading from a DAS-6 Pro. My current first choice is the FLEX XC 3401 VRG with the addition of the Lake Country Backing Plate System. (Alternatively, my strong second choice is the DAS-6 Pro Plus) I also plan to add some Microfibre pads to my stock. Any comments/ advice/ recommendations welcomed. 19. I just thought I'd share a few of the things I wish I'd known before I started using ONR: Firstly just because it says 'no rinse' that doesn't mean no 'pre-rinse'. ONR VS Foam - YouTube So you could have a 2L pressure sprayer to pre-soak the car. 2L Spear & Jackson Pressure Sprayer No need to fill it separately, just fill it by dunking it into your wash bucket. On the subject of a wash bucket; 4 Gallons of ONR works very well as it gives a large volume between the top of the ONR and any debris released. 20L Wash Bucket To assist the process of the ONR releasing the debris to the bottom of the bucket a Grit Guard and Grit Guard Washboard. Forensic Detailing Channel - Grit Guard washboard Review Grit Guard Washboard In terms of wash media: Forensic Detailing Channel - Microfiber Madness Review The way this microfibre releases debris is the main reason [IMHO] it works so well with ONR. Personally I use a Microfiber Madness Incredisponge, as it has a large centre sponge core which holds plenty of ONR. Microfiber Madness Incredisponge As per Yvan's instructions, you want to squeeze it out until it's just on the point of dripping. Yvan Lacroix - ONR "How To" You are literally "applying" the ONR to the surface no pressure required. And obviously being very aware of the drying process. A quality drying towel: Gtechniq MF4 Diamond Weave Towel And using a drying aid: The Most Efficient Drying Techniques | OPTIMUM PRODUCTS - YouTube You can also, should you wish, wash, clay and wax [and seal]. How To Wash Then Clay & Wax In Just One Step! - YouTube (You can add the seal by using Optimum Opti-Seal as your drying aid.) As everyone will, you will adapt the process to suit you. For a weekly maintenance wash I have it down to just the bucket (with sponge & brush), sprayer, drying towels, and opti-seal to carry from my flat. I just hope something here may aid your experience of using ONR and keep you swirl free.
  20. From speaking to Yvan (from Optimum) [when I say "speaking to" read a one line email response] the majority of swirls tend to be inflicted when drying (due to the 'no rinse' nature of the wash procedure) so his advice, always use a drying aid to help lubricate the drying process and reduce the risk of marring. Personally I use Gtechniq MF4 diamond waffle weave towels and Opti-Seal as the drying aid. Yvan's drying aid video can be found here: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I've tried it. This is my experience. As a snow foam, it's not the best. As a fall out remover, it's not the best. But... after a full decontamination, it does minimise further build up. Taken from CarPro UK website: "After a vehicle has been properly de-contaminated IXSS will keep it free of iron particles far more than any other car wash" Another point to note: Special Notes: IronX SoapGel will affect oil base waxes by approximately 50%. Do not use as a maintenance wash unless you are decontaminating your vehicle or it has been protected with a durable sealant or semi-permanent coating (such as Cquartz).
  22. I've just upgraded my drying towels to some Gtechniq MF4's. Not had much chance to really test them yet but... They have a large label, sewn into the seam. How do you remove it (if you can) or do you have to leave it in? Regards,
  23. Now I cannot pretend to be an expert or have half the experience of some on here but this is my one opinion... I always apply snow foam or pre-wash to a dry car. This way you are applying protection to the paint before rinsing (moving any dirt) But that's just one mans opinion... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Yes, apologies. i.e. Race default is DSG in 'S' Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
