I think they have recently changed supplier of the 8j, as they are very slightly different compared to the ones advertised on their site.....

These look fantastic and I'm thinking of ordering a set from cm wheels today in grey. What wheel width did you go for as I'm thinking of getting 8inch as I'm concerned that the 8.5 will have too much poke on the front. Thanks Shak

Also the scirocco R has the older 2.0tfsi engine 280bhp. I previously had a scirocco and the golf R is a far better car due to having much more modern technology. Shak

So.... Finally picked up my R!! And all I can say is wow!! What a machine!! Absolutely in love with it. Haven't taken it out of race mode yet and I'm amazed by the power delivery. Certainly worth the wait and the dealer pulled out all the stops in the end. Chuffed to bits Shak

Yes, I run a garage so using the works smoker...Skoda Octavia 2.0 diesel. Got an update today, car returns from the wheel specialist tomorrow and the car will be ready for pickup on Thursday! Didn't do to bad in the end, giving me a full tank of fuel, 2 new Bridgestone tyres, 2 wheel refurbs, new rear brakes, touch up paint and MDI cable...oh yes they knocked off £500 off the sale price too. Thursdays has come and gone and still no car 😢, unfortunately the salesman was off at the beginning of the week due to personal issues and the car was left. Got a call on Thursday to say the car was ready but the wheels weren't done. Felt very disappointed which I voiced but not allot can be done. Hoping to have it early next week 🤞🤞🤞 Shak

My car arrived at the dealer today for me to test drive... All I can say is wow!! Plenty of grunt and handles very well...I felt so connected to the car! The dealer is sorting out a few jobs including 2 wheel refurbs which were slightly marked. Should get it Thursday! Can't wait Shak

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! I've had exactly the same issue, missed out on 4 this weekend alone! I found a midnight blue one at a dealer and quicky put down a deposit over the phone to only find out when I got there last night to view it that they had double sold it!! I was gutted to say the least.. But they sourced me another in my preferred colour with lower mileage, hopefully it will be a smooth transaction from now on. 🤞 Shak

Hi all, thought I'd say hi. I've finally found a lapiz blue 4 door golf r dsg. It's got standard equipment but even that's good spec imo. I'm super excited and have wanted one since first time I saw one. I've sold my current car which is a Audi A4 3.0tdi which was capable but quite boring to drive, this replaced a vw Scirocco 2.0tsi which was brilliant and loved every minute driving it! I'm hoping the R gives me as much excitement!! The change to the a4 was made due to starting a family, but after 9 months of ownership I knew I needed to change it, I think the golf R will give me the practicality that is also needed. Will take 7-10 days before the car is ready, so it's going to feel like a long wait! Will put some pics once I've got the car and had a chance to detail it! Shak
