Sorry to resurrect this after 2 weeks, I got a bit preoccupied with work matters. Thanks to all replies here, appreciate the valuable info. Was hoping to have my OBDeleven by now to check for anything obvious but hasn’t landed from Lithuania yet. GrayMK7R - it was early 2015 think it registered in April but could possibly suffer the same issues Bayzoo - its funny you should mention the exhaust delete accentuating the issue as I have the BCS res delete since stock never gave me the sensation of speed I wanted. Add stage 1 and definately feel like im moving now Im stuck in the same boat when it comes to exhausts as the res delete never sounds like a nice refined note so have looked at Milltek (resonated/valved) but worried about losing my beloved farts in the process. I think I need about 30 golf R’s lined up with every combination of exhaust to make my choice (maybe bring the neighbours along too ) Naitch- appreciate you passing this message on to me. The tune isn’t all that old so I would have assumed the software was the latest patch but there may be versions for different revisions of the TCU or ECU. I think the plan of action is to check the OBDeleven when it arrives then go see tuner again - they are not local to me but at least I can go armed with the suggestions and info off here to help find a resolution

Its mainly comfort suspension and Eco engine mode (since it doesnt coast like the actual Eco mode does) in town to avoid the 3rd/4th gear changes around 30mph in D . Out of town I’ll flip it to something more suitable like normal or race - Really wish i could map the modes to the steering wheel for the amount I mess about with it.

Hi Bayzoo, I also find myself sometimes using manual for slow traffic now but it feels like im giving up on one of DSG’s advantages abit. I usually prefer the Individual mode as I have my own settings dialled in but I can never predict what the gearbox is plotting for me at low speeds Does anyone know if EMCS is used on this tune? I cant find any info except for the Mk6 but it would have been interesting to see what settings could be played with

Thanks for the replies. I’ll get an OBDeleven tonight and check for any fault codes - seems like a useful thing to have regardless and look at getting down to Awesome to check out. I did email APR (from website) over 3 weeks ago but didnt get a response. I also read alot of forum posts before getting the tune so expected a few minor cons like occassional rough downshifts in certain gears, just unsure what else is normal behaviour that wasn’t touched upon

Hi, looking for a bit of help/guidance with an APR stage 1 Golf R (MY2015, DSG, 22K, UK) I bought both the ECU and TCU tune from APR Dealer and have tested for about 3K miles so far but haven’t really enjoyed like I thought I would. Regarding the ECU upgrade the power isnt useable in a linear way as somewhere between 1/2 and 3/4 throttle the turbo doesn’t seem to know whether its engaged or not and seems to surge on and off - WOT is perfectly fine - The result is my driving style becomes all or nothing at the higher rev range TCU tune is something I thought Id really enjoy and seemed great for the first day or 2 but appears to relearn/adjust itself. I find “D” wont sit comfortably in a gear around 30mph always wanting to jump to 3rd at 27mph and back to 4th 30mph - a typical city drive would see and unneccary amount of shifts between 3rd/4th gear constantly when tailing traffic. Individual mode seems to take the original DSG map but often (not always) shifts to second almost immediatly from setting off and ends up bogged down at 800rpm and makes slow moving traffic difficult. Is any of this common or is there issues that can be resolved? Dont really want to flash back to stock if I can mitigate some of this as the extra power and drivability in “S” is great Car also failed it first MOT on emissions last week (2nd attempt took it after a good blast + fuel additive and still failed Lambda) if the car had been stock I would have taken in to VW as 1 month warranty left

Mine didnt come with any sealant, i just clamped it on :s
