  1. My R came with the S001's and I have always said to my lady I don't think these tyres do the car justice at all. My mark 6 GT140 is running MPSS and the difference is night and day, I feel I can drive the car far harder in anyy condition compared to the R. I just don't trust the tyre, I don't feel there is any feeling or good grip from them. They are 2353519 andrunning 35psi.
  2. Both vw garages have told me that if there is less than 6 months left on the mot they do it? I've found out more and the car was sold to the previous owner at this garage and he bought it while he was waiting for his golf 7.5 to be built. This is now complete and he chopped it in. Turns out he's big friends with one of the salesman there and buys a lot of cars, changes them every 6 to 12 months. Said he's got more money than sense!
  3. It was a lease for 2 years that first owner had it for. 2nd owner bought in may. Do know the reg so could have a check. The warranty is peace of mind so not like in buying it privately. 12 months is plenty of time I figure to find out if something is wrong. Just checked it passed it's mot yesterday with no advisorys.
  4. Second owner had it for around four months. Car looked to be in near enough mint to be fair. The alloys are pretitoria ones.
  5. That's what I assumed as lasrmt few cars I've mapped I've had to update the clutch
  6. Just assumed the clutch wouldn't handle a map! Forgot to say both are from VW dealers so will have 12 months warranty. Anything i should look at when i go back? If i do ho with blue one Should I get the wheel returned independently as worried about the colour match on the prets Thanks everyone so far
  7. Thinking about the first, we had a better run with the roads being back lanes and could really get on it. First time I'd ever driven one too. Forgot to say all these cars are manual so dont think the first was mapped
  8. Cheers guys, the red is also ex lease. I'll find out more about sat
  9. Hi I'm Matt, Been reading the forums for a while so thought I'd sign up and make myself known. I am finally in a position to buy a mark 7 R! After test driving numerous so called hot hatches the R just blew me away and the decision was made. Now comes the really hard part! I've got it down to 2. First a 2015 on a 15 plare lapiz blue with the 19s 15k mileage 2 owners. Car has only just arrived so was dirty but looked to be in great shape. Only thing I'm worried about is it was a vw lease until may this year and then sold this week. First service independant second a 1000 miles a go at vw. Dealer said they know the car and the previous owner is an impulsive car buyer and traded it for a gti. Looks mint as you would expect and looks like he's fitted brand new Bridgestone to the front. Tiny mark on bonnet one, slight mark on the alloy and a few light scratches on the rear bumper. Second car is a one owner in red 2015 15 plate again bog standard but extremely low mileage and looks like a brabd new car. Love the blue and got offered quite a good deal after haggling. Just niggles mean the 2nd owner only had it for such a short time. Can I ask about the race mode? The first ever car I ever drove I left this one and it felt very very fast. I forgot to turn this on one for the above two cars test drives and felt noticeably slower. Anything i should look at when i go back to see them again? Oh both cars same money exceot blue one with do 2 services, mot, guard x the car and said will repair the wheel. He said they are diamond cut so a mobile guy comes out and cuts them on a lathe? Sorry for the long post!
