  1. Sold to a dealer today after exactly 3 months ownership. Sadly it just wasn't the car that I'd hoped it would be. I found it impressive at times when overtaking or when needing to get going quickly, the brakes were good too, but the rest of the time it did nothing much for me. It didn't really suit the twisty B roads that are around where I live, it was a bit too wide, quite heavy feeling and it didn't like turning into low-ish speed tight bends. It was a nice car to look at though! Anyway it's back to my Fiesta ST MP215 which I luckily didn't trade in when I got the R. It puts a smile on my face pretty much every time I drive it and it loves tight bends.
  2. Yes after searching ringing and various other things it sounds like I have the normal sound that almost every other R has so everything's fine! Thanks for your help everyone.
  3. If I'm cruising at say 2000rpm and I gently press the throttle to speed up slightly I can hear it.
  4. It's at the revs as on my first post when just cruising and accelerating slightly.
  5. Hi all. I've only recently picked up my 7R and today's the first real drive that I've had in it. My wife and I both noticed that when I'm gently accelerating there's a noise coming from the engine. It's fairly quiet, but obvious and it sounds to me like it's either the air intake that I can hear, but it's also a bit like a quiet pinking noise. It happens in gears 3-6, possibly in 1st and 2nd too although I didn't test those. It can be heard at rpm's from around 1500-3000 after that the other engine noises overpower it. Is the noise normal for the R or is mine making noises that it shouldn't? Thanks.
  6. Hi all. I picked up my new to me R today. When I woke up this morning and I saw the amount of snow we'd got I wasn't sure if I'd still be able to make the journey to collect it, but I managed it sticking to the main roads. I'm very pleased with the car so far, although I've had to drive it very steadily! It's a 2015 65 plate manual that's only done 6600 miles, I paid a fair bit for it, but hopefully it's worth it. If you recognise the registration number and you know anything about the car please let me know as I'd like to know as much about the car as I can. ☺️
