I always use Auto but have not seen any automatic feature. When I push the lever once I see a "light dipping" logo on the dashboard. What is that for? Thank you for your clear and helpful answer

Hi. I must be particularly thick but after 4000 miles on my 2018 Golf R I still haven't understood the front light switch. I see that we can have an automatic full headlights on and off depending on the outside general lighting but how do you set that up? On auto or on the setting the most on the right? And how do you make it work? Thanks a million Ron Boyer
