Well I’ve had the box fitted for a couple of weeks now.
In shirt I’ll just echo what others have said before.
Fitting was really simple in about 5 min.
And I’m no good at any DIY so if I can do it anyone can.
The box makes the car so much more responsive and alive.
City settings are ok but I find Sport (with 1 red) is great for my normal stop start day to day drives.
Sport plus (with 2 red) is just nuts like an on/off switch for the 310bhp. Crazy but in a good way.
Im a convert. Any car in the future will be getting a box.
I’m considering a Revo or Mountune purchase but does anyone know if they’ll adjust the throttle response or will it still be worth keeping the box on??
Well,
after a a lot of research on this forum and elsewhere I’ve taken the plunge and bought the pedal box for my 2018 R310 manual.
No additional cost on my insurance premium either which is a bonus.
should be here Tuesday - can’t wait
will post a review once I’ve fitted it and had a play around.
Appreciate the response.
looks like geared for 56mph in second then according to this at least it puts my mind to rest that there’s nothing actually wrong with my new toy!! Although the fact that others get over 60mph in second is odd!
just a PITA then that’s all.
lol
Cheers.
been out this morning and it def hits the limiter in second at 58 which is slightly annoying.
Not sure if this would change as the engine loosens up a bit with a few miles.
So I’ve recently acquired a 2018 Golf R 310 manual coming from a Seat Leon Cupra 300.
Now I’m certainly no boy racer and I’m not doing traffic light GP’s every day but I’ve noticed a real difference in the gearing of the two cars.the Cupra would hit 60 in second but the R struggles to get over 50mph which means you have to change gear twice to hit 60.
Now all the stats show that the R should be almost around 0.7 sec quicker to 60 than the Cupra but whether it’s the gearing it doesn’t feel as ‘urgent’ if that makes sense?
Just wanted to check it was the same on other R manuals (third gear to get over 60) and wondered your thoughts?
cheers
