  1. Picked up brand new Golf R estate 4weeks ago and noticed one of front interior courtesy lights isn’t working in the last day or two. Removed unit to replace thinking it would be an old school bulb which it def isn’t. Does anyone have a part number or know where I can get one?
  2. Cheers for the reply’s gents, I am pretty much in the same position as Parky above. I currently have a 19plate Octavia VRS 245 estate with a few decent options which I was offered 17,250 for against the New VW R estate at 25k and change which left me with 7,750 cash after the Px. When I checked online previously WBAC was offering 17-18k and with recent events when I last checked I was being offered 10,500! I can always walk away which would be a shame as I have always had my heart set on owning a Golf. I think it may be a case of just waiting to see how things go when the market opens again and taking it from there.
  3. My new R estate was at the garage ready for collection in the past couple of weeks after ordering in December. Due to the ongoing situation I was unable to collect and the company was unable to process everything. I have contacted VW and they have said they will hold on to the vehicle till this all blows over, however they said that the current value of the car I was px’ing would have to be re-assessed which is fair enough. Given that the bottom seems to have fallen out of the market when I have looked at second hand car values does anyone know if this is likely to be reflected in the price of new cars? I only ask as realistically I’m not going to go ahead and put out cash on a new car if mine has dropped in value by 5-6k in the space of a month?
  4. Evening, I am due to pick up my UK Spec R estate (currently due for build in 2 weeks) from the dealers in the UK at the end of March. I am taking the car back to Germany and need to pass a lights test. Headlights and fog lights. With my current car a MY19 VRS estate the testers were happy with the driving on the other side switch in infotainment and I managed to code the second rear fog light which also saw it pass with no issues. So my question is does anyone know if it’s as simple as coding the other fog light to turn on presuming the wiring and light is actually present in passenger side rear unit already? Alternatively I plan to splice in an exterior fog light and put it under the rear bumper on the passenger side of the car which should be a cheaper option than buying new rear LHD light unit and adding additional wiring etc. Any info appreciated.
  5. Evening all, moved out to Germany for a 3 year stint in Germany early last year and took a new Octavia 245 VRS UK Spec out with me with a plan to trade in every year for something different. Had never owned a new car and always driven 4/5 year old cars quite happily however a perk of the job is tax free and some good maker discounts combined. I have always been a VW fan and decided to go for an R Estate which will hopefully be built late Feb and ready for UK collection Mar/Apr time. Haven’t test driven or sat in a Golf for years but I’m sure I won’t be disappointed. It also made sense as my winter wheel/tyre combo will go on the golf as well as the Thule wingbars. Looking forward to gaining some good info on the site and contributing where possible.
  6. Fortunate enough to be able to order an Estate R in the pipeline last week it’s due to be built late Feb for hopefully a late Mar/early Apr delivery. Moved out to Germany last year for a 3 year stint and took a Mar 2019 VRS245 estate out with me which I’m trading in. Haven’t driven the golf yet and I’m sure/hoping I won’t be disappointed! I plan to trade in again when it’s a year old but for god knows what!
