Thanks for the welcome. No plans for performance mods. It's already more than quick enough for the commute and to be honest it's going to spend most of it's life with me pottering. I have a 'weekend' car for high acceleration malarkey. I do however fancy a set of black Pretorias or replicas in 19" and black wing mirrors to match - but I'm in no rush. Cheers, Rob. PS. Is it because of my Newbie status that I can't add a location or signature to my profile?

Good afternoon everyone. I've lurked on here for a couple of months prior to finding my Mk7.5 R. The forum provided invaluable information. I started my hunt for a new daily driver with the idea that i would like to return to 4 wheel drive ownership and 300BHP ish, after a 2 year spell away from such cars in a leased Merc A class 250 AMG line, which inexorably put the R on my radar. Previous commuting cars being Impreza STIs x 3, an Audi S3 and an S4. I was drawn to the discreet nature of the car and started looking through the classifieds for black, grey or possibly blue cars. The usual dilemmas then surfaced; do i need the car to have DCC, should I pick 18" or 19" wheels, sunroof, climate windscreen, etc, etc? After a month or so of deliberation together with seeing what was out there, white cars were starting to grow on me. I test drove a local car on 19" Prets without DCC to see if the ride would be too harsh. I found the ride to be firm but perfectly acceptable and thus crossed DCC off my list. I've always found leather seats to be too hot in Summer and too cold in winter so crossed those of the list too. Finally I decided the only additional extra I could not do without over the alleged 'poverty spec' was a decent stereo. And then I saw a Turmeric Yellow example with 10k miles @ 2 years old, so discreet Q car made way for a 'look at me' car. 🙄 It's quite something how the colour changes depending on the ambient light. From almost golden to a hint of green. Not the best pics I'm afraid. Front taken after the 200 mile drive home from collecting it last month. Rear with vanity plate 100 miles later. And that's all I've managed in a month, but now the lease car has gone back it's just me and the R. Cheers, Rob.
