Couple of things I've noticed about 2 months into ownership Creaky infotainment screen although that seems to get better after a few mins of driving Noticeable wind noise from 65mph, at one point I thought is it really gusty outside? On colder days (sub 5 degrees) I can feel cold air coming from my left while driving even when the cabin reaches normal temperatures. I've traced it down to the centre console by putting my hand over it - anyone else notice this?

Accidentally posted this in the wrong forum! Anyone find launch control to bit hit & miss? Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't? ESC off, then race/nurburgring mode. This seems to be what people on YouTube do. Sometimes I get the launch control active notification, but half the time it doesn’t activate at all and it feels like I’m about to destroy the gearbox/clutch. Am I doing something wrong?

Anyone have any issues with the infotainment system creaking while driving? They seem to creak as you press against the edges of the screen

Finally collected my car! What a machine, the amount of power this has is immense and I've not taken it anywhere near redline/used more than half throttle. However it's a bittersweet feeling knowing this might be my last ever car with an ICE...

This sounds plausible - possibly they were awaiting the black edition trim parts (spoiler/darkened logos/black callipers etc) so it just got stuck. Anyway I called the dealer today to see if they reach out to VW and get some answers - and it's apparently now at status 30! Not fussed to find out what the hold up was - hopefully not much longer now!

Got off the phone with VW UK a few hours ago. There's been some back and forth over the last week trying to find out what's going on as it's now been over 4 weeks since the prescribed build week.. I was told last Friday that there's a known backlog with the black editions and this is likely contributing (even though mine is apparently showing as built, awaiting QC?) Anyway after chasing an update today they now revealed that there's a documented issue with the order on the system (however they cannot disclose what it is to me- they advised me to get the retailer to contact them to find out). At this point I asked them if I will even receive the car at all, as it has been stuck at checkpoint 7 out of 8 (which apparently means built + awaiting QC) for over 2 weeks now. They assured me I will, however they are estimating a December/January delivery as opposed to mid-late October Feel like cancelling the order and creating a new one! Wonder if I'll get it quicker that way haha Any hypotheses as to what's going on? Possibly a faulty component and they're awaiting for a replacement part to come in?

Hi all Wasn’t sure whether to post this here or the gremlins forum haha Week 37 build over here, still showing up as status 20 coming to the end of week 39 Called VW UK to find out why - they confirmed the vehicle did not pass quality inspection after it was built and are trying to resolve whatever the issue is Anyone experienced anything similar?

Called the dealer today who had no updates However I gave VW UK a call with my order number - and to my surprise they gave me confirmed BW of 37! I guess the spec is locked now so no HK for me 😢

Just called the dealership again, still status 00 so I guess that means they’re still awaiting an allocation. Wanted to see if I could add the HK sound system but they said this will definitely delay things. I’m not entirely keen on waiting any longer but if they still have no golf R allocation then surely amending the spec at this stage shouldn’t impact this? I’d understand if I was adding warmenau wheels as it seems like there’s been supply issues..

Thank you! I’m really looking forward to getting it. Now just need to find a way to forget about it for the time being - seems like some unlucky folk on here have been waiting well over 6 months! I’ll just set my expectations to this and anything sooner is a bonus.

Placed my order 10/07/2025 Golf R Black Edition Grenadilla Black Pan sunroof Nappa Leather Area view camera DCC Called the dealership earlier today, no changes to order status (probably still at 00) I’ve also noticed that I’ve not received an email from VW UK confirming that my order has been received - should I be concerned? Or is this something that happens when the order status changes?
