  1. I don’t know sorry I’m trying to explain it best way I can from what I was told because I have no paperwork showing what they checked and did !
  2. Hi guys bit of an update on my mk8.5 Battery So VW GARAGE had my car for “two day investigation” which to my findings they only worked on the car about 3h ish out of what they call two day’s investigation ! after all this they said that battery is healthy and it’s not going to be covered by warranty. I’m not sure I’m saying this correctly but they said battery showing “0.1A” which means battery is good , they said if it was 0.3A would not be good. They also would not give me any print out of what was checked or done in this so called two days investigation. They kept telling me they not allowed to disclose any information. They literally showed me few things on paper but wasn’t allowed to take copy or screenshots. How is this even right not to give out to customers checks done while they had the car ! I did some checks with multimeter again to see if you guys make sense of it and if this is ok for my battery or is the battery to low. I’m not an expert just trying to figure out if or not this battery is ok or not. For the record the car starts fine and runs fine. But the question remains have VW done the right checks or they just play around telling me battery is health ?they have Checked my car on 3 occasions now. If battery is fine and all ok “ why did they tell me they have to do a two day investigation with VW Technician “
  3. Hi I don’t know what the vw tech is doing when my car was with them now on 3 occasions or if they are properly charging it ! They are vw approved garage with all the vw tech to do the job , but what exactly goes on behind closed doors I will never know. I would expect the vw warranty to have been covering the first visit and not charge me and then on second visit after 3h checking they said battery is healthy and went on to say we need your car back in for two day investigation! So the same issue is from the first visit and yet they want refund me and use the warranty
  4. hi the car is under the original vw warranty still has 2 years warranty and it’s Vw golf mk8.5 tsi R-Line 2025 only over a year old. The only approved vw garage where I am will not accept that all 3 investigations are related and are refusing to reimburse me. I did say that this was to be a warranty matter. Even vw customer support did nothing about it when I contacted them about this matter and that car was sold to me like this from the uk dealership, even the dealership is not taking responsibility and I’m left to deal with it all only owning this car 6 weeks
  5. Sorry for the long message Hi guys, I could really do with some help or advice because, honestly, I’m not sure what to do anymore. I purchased my VW Golf Mk8.5 six weeks ago from a Volkswagen dealership in the UK. While I was at the dealership, I noticed a warning appearing approximately 10–20 seconds after switching the ignition on (without starting the engine): “12V battery is being discharged. Please start the engine.” I questioned the salesperson about this, and I was told it was nothing to worry about because the car had been sitting for a while and simply needed a good drive. The car was subsequently driven for approximately an hour, but the warning was still appearing whenever I switched the ignition on without starting the engine. Three days after purchasing the car, I contacted the supplying dealership to make them aware of the issue. They assured me that the car had been checked, everything was fine, and that it was covered by warranty, so there was nothing to worry about. However, the only Volkswagen-approved garage where I live explained that investigating the issue and carrying out diagnostics would not initially be covered under warranty. I contacted the supplying dealership again, and they told me that whatever the cost was, I should let them know and they would look into reimbursing me. I therefore booked the car into my local VW-approved garage. During the first visit, they tested the battery and found it was at 66% charge. They charged it to 80% to carry out their checks and offered me to keep the car overnight to charge it fully to 100%. I collected the car the following day and was charged approximately £200. Six days later, I decided to check the battery condition, only to find that it had dropped to 63%. I immediately contacted the garage, explained what had happened and was asked to bring the car back. During the second visit, they kept the car for approximately three hours, charged the battery back to 80% and carried out further checks. They advised that the battery was showing healthy but also explained that I needed to bring the car back on Monday so their Volkswagen technician could investigate the issue over two days. Meanwhile, the supplying dealership has now gone back on its promise to reimburse me for the initial £200 diagnostic and investigation costs. I’ve also contacted Volkswagen Customer Support and spent considerable time dealing with them through ongoing telephone calls and emails. Eventually, they informed me that they had investigated everything, concluded that the vehicle was sold in good order and that I had accepted the vehicle, so they were closing their investigation. How does this happen in this day and age? These dealerships represent the Volkswagen name, yet when something goes wrong, it feels like nobody wants to take responsibility. The warning was there when I purchased the vehicle. I raised it with the salesperson before buying, and I reported it to the supplying dealership just three days after purchase. I’m just an ordinary family man. I thought long and hard about purchasing this car and worked hard to get myself into a position where I could afford to upgrade my vehicle. Instead, just six weeks into ownership, I’ve spent three weeks going back and forth between dealerships, garages and Volkswagen Customer Support, trying to get someone to take responsibility for an issue that was present from day one. Thanks in advance for any advice & sorry again for long text
  6. Hi Don ( no offence) taken ☺️ yes I agree with you. It’s just that the first time car was in vw they charged me and they said it’s not a warranty matter and that’s why I’m angry because it’s now 3rd time going in. And I don’t like leaving my car with people I’m afraid because not everyone looks after your vehicle and last thing I want is any incident on an almost new car. But I will go with your advice and thank you for taking the time to replay I appreciate it I just hope they don’t keep asking to drop car back to them, they never explain things of what they doing when I ask them it’s like a secret or something. If they doing this 3rd time round under warranty then why did they charge me first time round.i did question it but they want accept that it should have been a warranty from the first time. These warranty’s are a joke you never know what they will say or do to get out of the warranty and make you pay
  7. Hi Don yes ignition off when I did the multimeter test. And thank you for the advice on if ever need to change battery. So Don you think I should let vw investigate my car they asked to have it over two day. Do I let them investigate it or just see how I get on and not take car to them. They said it’s not normal for battery to drop charge a few days after it was charged to 100% some of the things they are saying don’t fully make sense the way I see it. So first time it was in vw they said battery was 66% so they charged it up to 80% to plug it and check it and said battery is all ok , then after 6 days I checked battery and was showing like 63% so I called them and they asked to bring car back in, they had car for 3h apparently they charged battery to 80% to check it and then told me they will speck to vw technician and investigate the matter further and that’s over 2 days to see if there a drain
  8. Dose this reading look ok ? Hopefully I upload the picture ok there’s no option to add screenshots , plus I’m very new to this sorry and thank you for taking the time to replay
  9. Hi Don sorry about the last response I didn’t see that you were replying to someone else my bad. There no aftermarket dash cam on the car. The car is about a year and half old so technically I bought it as a used approved car from vw uk but car has only covered about 9,500 miles
  10. Don so sorry didn’t realise you where replaying to “ DV52 “ I’m new to this sorry ☺️
  11. Hi Don I’m very grateful and worked hard to save to buy this car I never had anything handed out to me in life. But owning this car only 6 weeks bit worried that the vw dealership didn’t check the car like they say they do before selling it. So if the battery was showing 11.73v 66% and after fully charged over night by vw and 6 days later was showing 11.60v 64% would you say this is normal for a modern car of 2025 I do drive the car everyday about 45 minutes to 1h journey. Do you think I should let vw garage check it again ? They had the car in twice and now they want the car in 3rd time and asked to leave it at the garage for 2 days , I’m worried they might do a software update or change something and it will trigger another issue that where not there.
  12. Hi and thank you for responding much appreciate it. my concern is that I only owed this car 6 weeks and took it to vw to be checked because of this & they said battery 11.73v was 66% so they kept it over night to charge it to 100% after 5 days the battery was showing like 11.60v 64% so Vw checked car 2nd time now saying that the battery is healthy no issues but they are now going to investigate it further because they don’t think battery should drop with in few days. I drive car every day & I read that 30-45 minutes drive should be enough to charge the battery and also read that at 63% won’t normally flag as an issue when checked but could be something draining it. To be honest car starts with no issues and no warning lights on dash but now I’m worried that something causing battery to drain, or maybe it is battery or It could be a module staying on and causing the battery to drain. And worried that vw might touch something or update something and make it worse or cause other issues ( I sorry I find it hard to trust garages) because not all do what they say they will do and once things are not good they leave you hanging. Lots of vw owners had cars checked by vw and they start experiencing issues. Last thing I want is going back and forth in garage. I like the car but I’m starting to regret buying it. My last car had for 11 years all it ever needed is annual service and was good as gold never any issues. This car 6 weeks and been to vw twice going back it 3rd time. I think OBDeleven 3 can access so of the SFD on mk8.5 you have to create a two part code to access it
  13.
