I have had my new R Estate for a week and a half now and loving it, covered over 800 miles, mostly motorway unfortunately but have some questions I can't find answers too elsewhere in the forum. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Has anyone purchased a 'second floor' for the underside of the boot, I can't find an official vw part but is there any aftermarket products that will create a new floor to put things out of sight under the boot floor and above the spare wheel? Will a full size wheel (18") fit in the spare wheel well instead of the space saver? The last question is to do with the Infotainment system and car-net, does anyone use this and it does not seem to be slick, is it worth buying a carstick or will a usb powered hotspot do the same job. If I went for this option would a USB splitter work as I use the App connect for Apple play. It looks like you can only have one thing or another with this system so I wouldn't want to use the carstick or other if I can't use carplay. Is the only way to have a battery operated hotspot and charge it up occasionally? I know you can use the hotspot from your phone but this is not a slick answer as it does not auto-connect.
