Crazy7ony Posted October 11 Report Share Posted October 11 Hi all, tony from Nottingham, had my 22reg 8R 3 weeks now and very happy so far, love the lapiz blue colour and all stock for the time being. Just chasing an oil leak at the moment which is my priority if anyone can help or if any known issues. Looks to be coming from the filler cap even after a new cap is fitted. Next I'm thinking to replace the pcv valve unless anyone else knows otherwise, seems worse when you give it some welly plus looks a mess and I'm fed up of cleaning it off 🙃. Sorry to hear you’re experiencing issues with an oil leak. I do hope you can trace the source and get it fixed so you can enjoy the car without worry. Hopefully a straightforward find and fix, as i said, the cap was replaced to no avail, have now ordered a new pcv valve to try that but I don't see many mk8's failing on the Internet, think they are more common on the mk7's. Worth a shot, if that don't solve it then I'll look at a new upper timing chain cover. Only covered 48k so abit strange but I'm sure will get to the bottom of it in some way shape or form. Cheers.
