  2. AMD in near Lakeside in Essex would probably fit it, ... I'd imagine it'd be just the cost of an hours labour or so. Ive got a pedalbox update for sale if you're interested, the tuning box and the pedalbox together would turn the car into a missile.
  3. Let us know the date and if I'm free I'll be there - convoy.
  4. Thanks for the mixed views, fully understand it isn't everyone's cup of tea ..... But I must say, after just 4 days of having it, the car has got more attention, before it was just a white golf with, if you bothered to look, 4 exhausts ... .... Now seems that people spot the blue grill and the carbon door strips and then kinda acknowledge that it's something a little special and not just a plain golf... Then comes the odd thumbs up or nice car mate comment. Like someone said in this thread, the GTI has some cool external detailing bespoke to the GTI, the R just has a badge .... The R400 will have the Yellow cool detailing .... I think the R has missed out a little. I chose the electric blue because that's the same colour as the needles, the door shut neon lights and the door card lights ...and because I like the blue colour, which was the same colour as my R32 I had, which I miss the V6 engine and exhaust notes, another thing the R is severely missing. Cant wait for the R400 to come out, then I can get one of them and tick all the boxes of personal preference I hope. Mirrors and some other little bits being done this weekend..... I'll upload some pics .... Just for your entertainment value if nothing else...... All the best and cheers ...... Jon
  5. The boot lip is to hide all the dirt. One of my biggest gripes with the car is that dirt seems to always lay on the lip.... The wrap strip will help hide that...... And I'll not be having a white car again.
  6. Went out with a mate today.... To video some drive by's .... So I could hear what my car sounded like as a pedestrian. After a few my mate drove the car from 'legal road speed' to an aggressive halt downshifting using the paddles .... As he went past me, and the rear of the car came into view, I noticed that the rear brake lights flashes on and off and the hazard lights come on..... I asked him if he was pressing and depressing the brake pedal and put the hazards on but NO.... It was automatic ... A cool emergency braking feature. Apparently all the new VW and Audi vehicles have the new feature.
  7. Carbon fibre roof, carbon fibre boot lip, carbon fibre strips under the window drops and electric blue front grill detail over the two chrome strips. Still got a few little details to complete next weekend before it's finished. Not to to everyone's liking but I get that......
  8. How about one of them electric shock key fobs..... You'll probably hear the "ah ya bast-ard" from the drive way.... Lol
  9. Really......that is the best DSG tip to date .... Whats next; a thread called 'Door Tip' and then saying shit like; "alright lads, if you like push down or up on dem button switch fings on da door panel yeah, da windows go up and down like man - try it, you'll see it" FFS
  10. The grey clip ya push up and in, if my memory serves me right ..... Put the seat right back, get an old pillow or blanket on the floor to save your knees, a good torch and bend down and get your head in there.... Use the little screw driver trick and push it HARD
  11. It's tough to remove.... Proper hurts ya thumb but get the hump with it enough ya manage to summons up the strength to push hard enough and 'pop' it releases. I put mine back on again and then when it come to remove it I just pushed the grey clip with a small screw driver and it popped much easier.
  12. Inchcape Harold Wood Essex had a deal on the oil, 5W 30 long life Shell. £13.99 for 1 litre or £20 for 2 ..... Took the £20 deal and was charged £19.99 ! The parts guy was dead helpful and topped up the oil for me, without a funnel, not spilling a drop. I don't check ...... I tend to rely on the dashboard telling me if something needs doing - same as I wait for the wife to tell me to do housework !
