Definitely. I now have a clean ram air filter, re oiled and ready to go. Shame I only have one air box...

I bought my R from VW Derby. I’ve had it a year now and decided to replace the filter with a BMC I picked up on here. imagine my surprise when I opened the box and found a very grubby ram air filter with what looked like treacle everywhere...my car has had catarrh and I didn’t know. Anyway, filter replaced and immediate noticeable difference in sound mpg and throttle response. The point I really wanted to make was that the dealer had supposedly serviced the car twice in a couple of weeks prior to me buying. Once, as required by age, and once as part of the sales procedure. Yet they’d left an aftermarket filter in place. The car came with 2 years warranty still left. Theoretically, I would never have known it was not Oem....

I followed the article on here for the exhausts, Simoniz primer and black top coat. All sourced from fleabay... Would you believe the spats were Halfords gloss black! They should have come gloss black but the finish was poor. Some areas didn’t look like they had any finish at all. Some careful light sanding and they took the paint really well. Get lots of comments about my back end.....

Then it started to rain so I moved indoors.....grab handle.....carbon wrapped, done...

Had a few minutes spare so carbon wrapped my front badge....

I’m of a similar mind. This looks like it simply sticks on over the existing spoiler and appears to overhang at the sides. Not for me I’m afraid. Looks good quality though.

Also tempted but curious about the fitting...

The hubs were the first job I did when I got the car in March..smooth hammerite with a brush. Its all about the prep, nice and clean and plenty of masking tape...any over-spill on the disc comes right of with a bit of thinners. They still look mint today and just wash clean.

I'm also thinking of a refurb on my prets next spring....so seeing yours has helped massively for the colour... out of curiousity was it a full strip down and powder coating? If so do you you mind sharing the cost? What sort of time scale?

I finally got round to some tweeks on the rear end...the spats and exhaust paint job.

Trust me its simple. A bit of prep sanding or wire brush and some smooth hammerite, either brushed or aerosol. It's all in the prep. Just make sure no paint goes on the brakes surface. Clean it off with thinners.

I'm probably being a bit dense so apologies if that's the case.... When I programme in a destination it gives me 3 route options with little symbols. I never know which is the best as I haven't got a clue what the symbols stand for. I presume shortest fastest and probably economical? Can anyone confirm what they are and which is which? i have tried to find the answer in the handbook and google but no joy...

I've had mine fitted for a week and really happy with the spats. The rear now looks finished. Just done a longish drive in horrendous rain and can't say it makes much difference to the dirt spray. Don't really care because they look very good....

This topic has convinced me to paint it black... I have a 3 door 16 plate and the tips have started to show slight corrosion where the carbon has not been cleaned (obviously the previous owner!) i used WD and a tool designed to pull laminate flooring together to knock them off. Took 2 minutes... Now for painting....

Totally agree with Booths comments....I wouldnt be without mine. Have the bright blue and a spare black...bargains...

Has anybody used the TRC stuff? I'm thinking of getting the rear spats and wondered about the quality??
