Im 63 but feel like an 18 year old.....but cant catch one now 🤣 Had mine 2 years now, but used as a second car on dry days.

That was the reason I was looking for a non lease car, I looked at a few and when asked if they had been leased and they said yes I moved on. VW Halifax were willing to show me previous owners on the V% and confirmed not ex lease /PCP.

Found him on another foum. Thanks.

Bit of a long shot but trying to trace the previous owner of my R His name is Paul Harris, from Wellington, Telford. He owned a 14 plate lapiz blue 3 door Reg KR14 GWM (now on private plate) just trying to find out if any mods / tuning work had been done before I bought it 15 month ago. I know it's a long shot but just maybe someone knows him.

Thanks. Will give it a go tomorrow.

I have now downloaded the file and 7 zipped it and I now have this. I have copied the Mib! file to the SDCard, and when I try to install on Mib1 it scans and after a while it says no data found. Below is what is on my SD card the first image is the folder and the second image is what is in the folder. so not sure whats wrong, my previous update was via the VW website.

As winter is fast approaching I'm looking for a beanie hat with either Golf R, the R logo, or even VWROC.com I'm sure other folk would also be interested, or not!! Has anyone got one? where did you get it from? if not how about VWROC.com getting some for the store? Or has anyone got contacts to have some done if VWROC.com are not interested.....maybe a group buy.

I have a 2014 model, and had a small puddle next day on the garage floor. Did a bit of research, and found that water pumps were suspect in the early days (I believe due to a plastic body) (I think its now metal) Mine was replaced F.O.C. under Warranty. Take a look under the bonnet, I could see water sitting in the under tray.

Thanks for everyone's comments & help for the above posts. Without sites like this, the world would be a poorer place. 👏👏👏👏

Update. Soundaktor now fitted F.O.C. under Warranty. I will see if I can live with it on, if not I will turn down or off. Question. Who still uses this(if anyone does) and what % settings are you using.

Update. Called at dealers yesterday and its booked in for Tuesday 7th Nov. I did ask them to take a look while I was there so they could confirm it was missing, they could then order the part so it would be ready to fit when I drop the car off. but they said it would need to be in the workshop and they didnt have time. So I recon it will be a 2 day job, 1 day to confirm and order and another day to fit it. The reason i want it fitting is because when you do a scan it comes up as a fault (open circuit) I can then adjust with my OBD eleven as required. Update to follow.

Will keep everyone updated after my visit tomorrow.

I understand what your all saying regarding the dealer and Warranty, but I bought this car 2nd hand. As I have warranty through buying from a VW dealer. But looking at the Warranty t&Cs whats covered and whats not covered, under the warranty exclusions is :- Any defect which is likely to have existed before the period of cover. This may give them a bit of a get out.
-
Who's Dave? I can do the job.
-
I prefer car to be totaly standard. It can then be turned down or off with obd eleven. Or if prefered set at a lower % if wanted.
-
I was a bit surprised to not find it. Warranty is an option. But would prefer to fit it myself. If I go to VW it would mean leaving car, finding my way home, then going back another day to collect it. + VW garage about 10 mile away.

Just had a look to see why my soundaktor was not working and found it was missing and the plug was taped up. Does anybody have one they have removed, and have no intension of refitting. Willing to cover postage. I may be able to claim on my warranty but to be honest I would rather do it myself to dave the hassle.
-
Ah. I will have a search see what i can find out.
-
Yes. Deleted the fault before re-scanning. I understand that it will only reset it, and not repair it. What I have not tried yet is if the soundactor is working or not, if it's not I will send it in for sorting under warranty. At present its not working so next job is to see if I can alter the volume using OBD (fingers crossed) Thanks for all your help & understanding for a newbie.

Right been out and followed Roberth's instructions, re-scanned and the fault still there, tried 3 times without success. I did notice that when I go into the fault screen. The google search link shows "Structure-borne sound actuartor" then under that its says open circuit. As I still have Das WeltAuto it may be worth taking back for them to sort, just thought if I could clear it, it would save me a lot hassle leaving car then going back to collect it which is a bit of a PITA.

OK. Thanks yet again.
