  1. How do you access the NHS discount - I work for the NHS but have never seen this? Thanks
  2. Hello all, Hope everyone is alright in these mad times!?!?! My drivers side wing mirror glass just fell out randomly and I need to replace it - there seems to be a multitude of options and I am not clued up enough to know what to go for (i.e. the best option) - I have the heated mirrors - can anyone please take the time to point me in the right direction please and thank you! :)
  3. Been doing some more research - seems the OEM wheels are also quite light? Is this true, kinda negates the thoughts of an aftermarket set with fitting issues if so? Any thoughts on this please?
  4. Very valid points Steve, I completely agree with your reasoning. It's just me in the car fortunately. I don't have the technical knowledge to "claim" the crack is causing the deflation of the tyre I was informed the crack was the cause by a local tyre depot (protyre.co.uk) who are generally an excellent site and have always been solid in the past. I also know the manager there personally as we played football together for ten years, so I kind of have to trust them. I do agree with what you are saying totally, it's a good point so thank you.
  5. Awesome Phil thank you, the wheel is cracked so much it's losing air and the crack is the cause. It is on the inside so you can't see it. The tyre place I went to told me 60% of repairs fail that they've seen - a new oem wheel from VW is £892 (ouch) so could probably upgrade to 4 aftermarket ones and the rears need new tyres soon anyway , just don't know. I need my car daily so bit of a nightmare.
  6. So went to get some PS4s fitted as front tyres were as good as gone and had seen on here they were recommended -- and my front alloy is cracked Has anyone had them repaired - is it safe to do this? Please forgive my ignorance but is there different colour schemes on the wheels as I think mine are a gunmetal grey as opposed to silver? Is there any recommended places to look for a new one and or should I swallow cost and get an upgraded set of four whole new wheels and if so what would be recommended. Gutted as this destroys my cashflow and mod money so any help much appreciated as always !!
  7. Thanks all - some good suggestions on here :) :) :) I've been doing some more research and am formulating a plan!
  8. Someone else suggested the car would feel twitchy on mildly worn P zeros too - I think mine were about 25% worn at last check
  9. Thank you - running P zero's at the moment, any suggestions? Are yellow stuff still good for brake pads?
  10. Hello all, Thank you to all who helped me on my last thread. Have had my R for a couple of months now and having had the RS3 prior from brand new I am leaning toward the R as the overall better car, the only thing the RS3 did better for me was noise and it's a 2.5 and the B&O sound was insane. The R is miles better to drive overall which is the main thing. Anyway I read great things about maps so I am looking to do that, question being is should I mod anything else on the car first that might make a huge difference. I can feel a bit of roll in corners so was thinking ARB's but a little concerned about it being too stiff as car is my daily drive and I do silly miles. I already feel like the stock car is a bit of a weapon compared to most but would like a bit more torque if possible and faster power delivery on demand as it does feel a bit laggy - or is this that falt spot I've also seen mentioned. Anyway is there any must do parts that you would all highly recommend and thanks in advance for your opinions and suggestions 👍
  11. Thank you all for your advice, VW seeing car on Friday - excited to get it performing well, much better to drive than the RS3
  12. Will do, they wouldn't trigger a fault on the computer though as it's showing clear? I always run on V-power as recommended, was going to try the different premium fuels, always ran the R32 on that and it made a noticeable difference to me.
  13. Coil packs make sense, quite like a feeling when my old MK4 R32 did that!
  14. From an independent dealer, have 3 months warranty with them.
  15. Hello All, Just got into a 65 plate R having had R32's then an M3 (blew up...) then an RS3 briefly. Love the Golf R however two weeks of driving and something doesn't feel right at speed, it feels a bit like it's stuttering and not delivering power smoothly on acceleration from app 55 to around 85 mph - I'd almost liken it to an old diesel engine type feeling, was thinking is there some sort of fuel delivery issue or has someone done a bad map on it and just not said anything. FSH with no issues MOT with no issues, still just in warranty I think? Any ideas or suggestions, or should I just whip it in for a once over, it's only two weeks from purchase so am a bit miffed. Otherwise it runs fine and pulls realtively well although feels a bit laggy at the beginning of accelration too. Cheers for any help/advice all
