That's a strong number, & dependant on whether the dyno is generous or conservative I suppose. Thanks Slider 09. I know Rick @ Unicorn has a very strong base of support for his work which inspires confidence. However DK are up the road & a lot of people recommend going local (convenience if issues arise).

I will he renewing my cover next summer & want to make sure it's a mods friendly insurer. (Prob stage 1 Unicorn) I am currently with a broker called Academy which said the companies on their book dont or dont like to insure modded cars! Advice appreciated peeps.

I am pretty set on Unicorn & would take some seriois persuasion to change my mind. I did think it was worth asking if anyone had any experience of it.

Thanks for taking the time to reply all. If I took a punt on going remap + tcu & I was unlucky enough for the turbo to fail. What is the outcome/cost to put it all right. Are we talking HUGE money or is it just fairly big money.

Hi everyone.... I have a 67 plate R & considering the 1st step to stage 1 (probably at Unicorn) should I be concerned about the stock turbo? If so what is the best route to avoid destruction 1. Surrender car for balancing (how long without a car & cost???) 2. Replace with hybrid (which one given I dont want to hike power up too much where an increase in maintenance is an arse pain).

Anyone here had an R 7.5 stage 1 & or dsg tune at unicorn? I'd love to here your post tune results/experience.

I cant believe Revo are knocking 70% off. Where is that available?

Almost all my driving is under 5 miles & not on motorways etc. But that is incredibly good mpg. I have seen just over 40mpg on a short motorway trip once.

It's my daily, use it for day to day use mostly 3-5 mile commute. With occasional proper drive outs. Maybe better sticking to to the stage 1 then based on your advice. Should save me a few quid too. There's a local Revo dealer (3 miles away) I can pop round & have a chat with them.

It's a really tough call on what to decide. I'm going to keep my ear to the ground for a bit before making my mind up on which tunes, (ECU or ecu & dsg) with whom & whether to go 1 or 2.

Not heard about the group buy , but if you find out anything useful & be grateful if you passed it on mardon85.

Thanks Alexis, I am really interested to hear about your experience from having a stage 1 + dsg on a 7.5 from Rick.

I'm now stuck between apr revo & Unicorn..... & whether or not to think about stage 2 (people saying stage 1 is a bit laggy & I dont want that) & the dsg is not as smooth or in the right gear as I'd like..... decisions decisions!!!

Rick @ Unicorn has come back to me after I sent him a message through his website. He was pretty quick too tbf
