So, just over 3 years and a meagre 3000 miles it’s time to say goodbye to the R, great car but I’ve only done 5 miles since it was MOT’d in March, yeah I could keep it but it just doesn’t seem like the right thing to do, someone could be really enjoying this car. the spec: March 2019 (19 plate), 15308 miles, 3 dr, winter pack, reversing camera, 90% rear tints, black pack, rash free Spielberg’s with matching PS4S tyres at 6mm, totally standard, full VW dealer history, no dings/dents/scratches, lovingly maintained and this almost 50 yr old doesn’t do launching. Thoughts and opinions on value and where to sell appreciated

Meguiars gold, BH auto wash, Gyeon bathe+, various dodo juice and am currently at the end of a 5l tub of CarChem 1900:1. I’ve also got a shampoo from Bristol detailing supplies which I’m impressed with, loads of suds, good cleaning power and super slick, I tend to squirt some bathe+ in there for good luck, the only downside is the smell, it’s grape and it reminds me of cheap creative mixes from a few decades ago (let’s no go back to the year 2000) So, anyone tried garage therapy shampoo ?

Bought myself a new pressure washer, though I deserve it (debatable), MTM SGS35 with 25/40 degree nozzles also winging their way to me.

surely you can cancel the plan if you’re paying monthly, who would carry on paying if you sold the car ?

does all in cover brake fluid and haldex fluids ? I’ve got a service plan now and it doesn’t cover those

thanks for the advice Neil. How often should the brake fluid and haldex oil be changed ? My car is completely standard (like yours) with the dealer doing all services so far, I wouldn’t go away from them for that, just not sure they need to do everything if you know what I mean

So the whip is 3 and it’s time for a haldex oil change, the main stealer want £120 for the oil change and another £120 to take the pump out and clean the gauze/filter, seems a bit steep. The local specialist (VGS) will do both for £129.99 and add the info to the cars digital service record. question is, will that taint my service history, will it show that I’ve gone cheap and taken it to a specialist ?

Cheers all, the whip is booked in for a major service next Tuesday, I’ll get them to do the eligibility check while it’s in and take it from there.

So peeps, I’ve had the golf almost 2 years, only done 2500 miles and it’s going to be out of warranty at the end of July, cost of extending it through Inchcape is £45 per month, seems to cover most things and includes recovery should anything let go whilst driving with ‘spirit’ thoughts everyone, yay, ney ? did think of changing it for something but there’s not much I fancy out there, plus car prices are *ucking crazy at the moment

Evening all, gave the car a quick once over this evening and realised I’m coming to the end of my interior cleaner, I’ve been using Meguiar’s interior detailed which is ok, what’s everyone else using here? Any recommendations ?

Your resin won’t last long if you run it with your pressure washer, better off just using the DI just for the final rinse

be interested to know how you get on with that, I’ve got a K4 with integrated hose reel,that I refuse to use cos that f*****g hose winds me up so much 🤬

The Mrs bought me some dynamic spinning centres for Xmas, they don’t fit my Spielberg’s unfortunately, I’d say the spinners are 65mm and the originals are around 56mm (external diameter)
