  1. @MJC1216 All the best Mark. Like you I loved the 7.5 and you summed up the UK perfectly and it’ll get worse. I’m envious of you, BBQ’s on Christmas Day can’t be bad👍🏻.
  2. Really enjoyed listening to that Ian @Msportman. Makes me think now I should’ve kept my MK7.5, than buy my RS3. Clarkson was right about spending 5/10min turning all the assisted features off on the new generation cars, and I totally agree with him in relation to EV cars. They can stick them where the sun don’t shine.
  3. Maybe not a car upgrade as such, but definitely an essential upgrade for us as a dog owners. New dog crate arrived today for Misty (Norfolk Terrier) and Willow (Cockapoo) from DT boxes. Mark made a bespoke crate to fit my car. Top company to deal with and went above and beyond even visiting their local Audi dealer, to make sure it was an exact fit. Over the moon with it and is just a really good bit of kit👍🏻👍🏻 p.s. Just to let members who are interested, they also do fitted crates for the Golf Mk7/7.5/8/8.5 and many other makes, but mine was the first RS3 they had done (I am not affiliated in any way shape or form to this company)
  4. @Booth11 Gutted for you Rebecca, although luckily you were not injured in the incident but your pride and joy has been damaged, by some horrible scroat scum bag who had total disregard to other peoples lives and property. I’d be absolutely climbing the wall🤬🤬. The only positive if you can call it that as others have said, it’s only plastic parts that need replacing and not metal body structure. This country has gone to pot, even if the scum bag was caught he probably would land up with some stupid suspended sentence, community service or a few months in jail. People work hard to get the nicer things in life, but some of these vermin’s in the UK just need to be put down at a vet. My thought are with you and I hope you get it sorted soon❤️
  5. Will do Neil😂😂🫣 Have been driving it like a little 1.0L fiesta at the moment, until it’s run in, but once it reaches 1000 miles I’ll be like David Carradine in Death Race 2000 when it does, or maybe that exaggerating a bit 😂😂 p.s. It’s about time you changed your car now Neil, you know you want to 😉👍🏻
  6. Thanks Mark, was a bit nervous doing the console but it was a piece of cake. I do like the Matt wheels but I think they will be a pain to clean. Thanks for the heads up re number plate, I hadn’t realised, now corrected😂👍🏻
  7. Thank you Rebecca, yes I thought so too. The gloss black draws dust and a nightmare for fingerprints👍🏻
  8. Having had the car for just over a month, a few bits done to the car. First I got rid of that horrible black gloss console and swapped it out for a genuine carbon fibre one which matched the Audi dash perfectly. Was a bit apprehensive doing it but it took me all of 10 minutes to do. I think it’s much better now. Also added the RS3 front badge, which Audi has decided to drop off the models. Took the car then to Muffwash in Middlewich to have Full detailing, correction and Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra topped with EXO.v5 Ceramic Coating. All the black pillars including rear part of spoiler Xpel PPF’d and whilst the wheel’s were off they changed the hubcaps over for Dynamic ones which I had bought in advance. Glass coating excluding windscreen. I must say that James who did the car for me was meticulous and did a great job, a real nice guy, also Daniel the owner was Brilliant and a pleasure to deal with. The car was stunning when I collected it. Would highly recommend this company. It’s a bit difficult to catch the red glitter in the paint, but it absolutely popping especially in the sun. Hope you like the pictures.
  9. If you can’t get any further with it, and you’re forced to take the car back, you’ve only two options. Keep it and dislike it, or sell it and move on 🤷🏻‍♂️.
  10. Much nicer with the spoiler on, it just finishes the Golf R off perfectly. Bet you glad you sorted it now, and the reason it’s faster, it’s because of that spoiler 😉👍🏻
  11. Your right, it certainly gets attention😍, and the performance mode start up is brilliant. Only thing I dislike about the car is that gloss black console, why oh why did Audi and VW do that. Anyhow I’ve ordered a genuine carbon fibre replacement from Germany which matches the carbon fibre dash, so that gloss thing will be going out the window. I’m still in that sad state at the moment, looking out the window at it before I go to bed at night 😂🫣 Did you find a decent RS3 forum, any recommendations? if so let me know. I appreciate it won’t be as good as this forum but I need to find one.
  12. Thanks Ian, it’s a lovely car, and it’s now “an itch that I’ve scratched” at last. The RS has been in the back of my mind for a long time and due to VW being so slow with my order it gave me the urge and opportunity to cancel and jump in to the RS. I’ve had quite a lot of strangers approach me and talking to me about the car, and quite a few horns and thumbs up with passing cars. It certainly draws the attention. Good ones I hope, but hey you can’t live in fear of “what ifs” and if the worst happens I’ve got Ala Gap insurance. There are some good deals out there at the moment👍🏻
  13. Thanks Mark👍🏻 I think it’s a case of “You get what you pay for”🤷🏻‍♂️ Is it worth the price difference from a fully loaded R, some would say yes others no. For me I’d have been quite happy getting a new R but I’d had a belly full of being messed about so I guess it’s now a bonus to have got this. Yes it is the Carbon Vorsprung model, and it was the spec I wanted. Had to be the Kemora Grey (Don’t think the wife would have sat in the Kyalami Green 😂🫣) and I had to have the red stitching interior, red callipers, matte grey alloys, and the auto boot (coz I’m lazy).
  14. Thanks Gary, I got a price off brokers for a new build, and then I searched the Audi Network. I located this car and it had just arrived in the showroom back end of May. It had all the options that I was after. I then used the brokers price to negotiate with the dealer. I nearly snapped his hand off over the phone and I got a brilliant deal, and having done the deal I pushed for more and got full tank of petrol, front and rear rubber mats, boot liner, and netting, plus they gifted us with champagne, flowers and a goodie bag with some mugs in it and pens. It really is amazing to drive and so comfortable, obviously still in the running in period so no heavy foot yet.
  15. It was a big jump from my 7.5 but I can’t really compare it to the Mk8. Comparing it to my old car is like night and day. In fact you can’t compare it. The interior is so much nicer as is the comfort of the seats. obviously I haven’t blasted it yet still in the running process. I was lucky to a degree with my motorfinity order as I had a great deal and I had ticked every option except the tow bar and sunroof, and I was really looking forward to getting the Black Edition, but I’d had enough of waiting around, with no light at the end of the tunnel. To be honest I had a really good deal on the RS but I paid a lot more from the Golf. Is it worth it who knows, but I’m more than pleased with it, and as they say, “You only live once Mr Bond”.
  16. Thanks Rebecca👍🏻 I loved every minute of the R, she looked after me as I did her. A wonderful all round car, which was just as happy plodding around or when the urge took over for a bit of pedal to the metal. Yes was gutted about the new order but it seemed never ending and I still wasn’t getting anywhere near a build date. I think VW must have black balled me for some reason😂 I definitely won’t be leaving the forum, it’s been the best one I’ve been on for people being so friendly. I now have to find a UK RS3 forum as well if one exists. The RS is clearly a big step up from my 7.5, but it would make sense as technology moves on so fast. Was knackered when I got home last night, the wife commented on why do I have to find cars so far away. We took the train up to Perth, but it was a long slog home keeping the car under 3000 revs and the weather was poor, but 344 miles later we were home. I thought it was very appropriate to name the RS Mingan (Grey Wolf), although I didn’t realise until the dealer showed me that Kemora Grey had red metallic flakes in it. I must say I do like the colour and I’m glad I chose the leather seats with red stitching, it brightens the interior up.
  17. Thanks Darren👍🏻 To be honest I loved my 7.5. If this car comes half as close to it, I’ll be a happy bunny. Yes the wing and the diffuser are factory. As you can tell I’m not the best with computers, and also my eyesight is not 100% either. I couldn’t see a thing with it covered 😂 Thanks for pointing that out🫣
  18. Thank you Neil👍🏻.Its got a manual that the Star Trek Enterprise would be proud of.
  19. I placed my order for a new R BE, back on the 14th January 25, I was given an estimated delivery of June but with a possibility of an earlier delivery. I waited patiently. Months went by with no updates, on top of this I kept on reading of the problems new owners were having with their 8.5, and also that at least two members were attempting to reject their car. I was starting to get disillusioned, by mid May, I contacted the broker, who informed me that the only reason they can think that it’s delayed is because I had so many extra options ( I’d chosen everything other that tow bar and sunroof). 1st June came I was straight on the phone, to be told there was no build date yet, so I cancelled the order there and then. I’d had enough. My search started for an alternative, and I wasn’t looking long before I found “my perfect car” in the spec I was after. Roll on one week and I collected by Brand New RS3😍. Arrived home with him last night after a very long day, but I’m like a Cheshire Cat. I think it’s one hell of a car. So I haven’t gone over to the “Dark Side” as I’m still in the VAG group, and I will be staying on here, as I think this forum and its community is great. So I’d like to introduce you to “Mingan” :-
  20. Well It was a sad day, but after 6yrs of fantastic ownership my 7.5 R has gone. We had one hell of a journey and she has been faultless throughout. It was a pleasure to drive this car and was my first R, and she was absolutely spotless inside and out when she left us. Bye bye Golf 👋🏻👋🏻
  21. Welcome to the forum Matt, and I must say Atlantic blue is a beautiful colour and rare. Good choice👍🏻 and it looks lovely with you. This forum is absolutely spot on, with a bunch of friendly people and they are a font of knowledge. Hope you have many years of enjoyment with your R, which I no doubt you will.
  22. Thanks Rebecca, I’ve managed to list all my items for sale in the classified section 👍🏻
  23. My apologies Rebecca, I wasn’t sure. Will be posting up on the classified when I get a chance. Thanks again 👍🏻
  24. Welcome to the forum, and congratulations on your order. I don’t know if I’m allowed to say this on here so please delete my comment if not, but I’m aware that the Black Edition Osram dynamic indicators are only sold specifically through VW at a cost I believe of £303. Just to let you know I have a brand new unused still in box here with me as I no longer need them and I am looking around the £250 mark for them or offers. I haven’t put them up for sale yet in the for sale topic, as I have been too busy but I will do shortly or if you want to PM me. Apologies if this is not allowed Rebecca and please remove my post if not.👍🏻
