This says they do both halogen and xenon suitable units. Not cheap and seems hard to find RHD units.
My new to me mk7 Golf has started to reveal a plethora of previous owner DIY maintenance / repairs.
The current one relates to the NSF headlight. The fitting lugs have previously snapped and been poorly glued back on. This means perfect (I'm a pedant) alugnment with the wing can not be achieved. I'm aware there are repair kits but I'm not sure the headlight body is too far gone.
I have also noted that the same NSF headlight does not do the same start up sequence / dance the OSF one does. I've reset the light in OBD11 but still no movement.
So on to my question! I'm considering getting some aftermarket headlights as replacements. I've seen a few but I'm unsure if these LED units will be as good if not better than the std xenon units. Also will I loose the bendy light feature or other features the std ones have?
Today was the first day I was able to dig into the OBDeleven app on my 2015 Golf R. One annoyance ive had since getting the car was that the exhaust flaps are constantly open regardless of being in normal setting. I had read that alot of people likd to disable the flaps via the coding option. To my surprise they were hot disabled via coding.
I had a quick look under the car and saw evidence of someone's DIY wiring mod. They appear to have spliced into the loom for the flap motor. Was this a recognised mod thing back when the MK7 first came out? Are you able to unplug the loom for each motor easily or does one end go into the body?
I will let you know I pick it up late next week. The XFR was 600bhp but even with dynamic mode it's a barge. Think the R will be a hoot.
Past VAG ownership is:
Audi Allroad 2.7bi turbo - slush not DSG
Audi S3 2001 manual
Seat Cupra 2002 manual
Skoda Superb 2012 V6 DSG
Polo GTI 2010 DSG
Polo Rline 2018 1.0tsi manual - currently Mrs Drew mobile.
I have lurked on the forum and have just signed up. I always find owners forum a treasure trove of usual information and this one is no different.
I just sold my Jaguar XFR and purchased a mk7 Golf R. Little apprehensive about such a change but I'm no stranger to DSG or VAG motors.
